Does anyone use these when packing their cases, i have seen some on Tesco website Pack Mates.

Just wondering what are the clothes like when you get them out, are they creased badly, and how do you get the air out.

Hi yes I use them when I travel. The creasing isnt too bad but i tend to fill them with underwear, beach towels and things that dont really crease.

They are more useful on the way back as you can fill them with all your dirty washing which you can keep seperate from all your shopping.

To use them you zip them up the apply preasure an squeeze or roll the air out.

Hope this helps

Jackie,
roughly how much stuff can you fit in one of these, and does in make a significant difference in the amount of stuff that you can fit in your case?

TIA! :goodvibes

They do hold a lot. I am not sure what size I have (think I have some medium and large) but can get a lot in them.

They definately make a difference space wise but remember they dont decrease the weight unfortunately.

I got my packmates from QVC and Ebay but not sure haw they compare to Tescos prices.

I use the smaller bags to seal sun lotions etc in so the cant leak in suitcase

Hope this helps

Thanks Jackie! :goodvibes

I hadn't thought of looking on Ebay. I think that I'll have a look on there before I go to Tesco! :thumbsup2

i bought some on ebay. There were 3 in the pack for £10.One massive one that you would easily get 2 pillows in and 2 medium sized that would fit 2 or 3 bath towels each-so plenty of room for all your dirty washing on the way home :thumbsup2 .To get the air out i just lay the on the floor and rolled them up really tightly, they can go very flat if you keep at it :thumbsup2

We bought some of these in Orlando at Sharper Image last year and like others have said, they are great for sticking your dirty laundry in!! They did make quite a difference for space :thumbsup2

Just checked out some prices,

Ebay 3 (1 large and 2 medium) £11.99 + £1 P&P

Tesco 3 (1 large and 2 medium) £12, not sure on delivery, going to see if in store.

QVC 4 (2 large and 2 small) £18, not sure on delivery.

Like some of the idea that you guys have said, ie dirty clothes, and sun cream.

I use ordinary zip-lock bags for smaller items. We tend to stock up on zip-locks when we're in Florida as they're much easier to find than at home (and are sturdier) and they cost just a couple of $ for about 10, depending on size.

Admittedly, I'd stand no chance of getting a couple of beach towels in these bags, even the larger sizes, but I've found them great for keeping underwear together for different members of the family - having two teenage daughters, and because we don't take a case each, I find it impossible to keep track of ownership of undies!

I put each person's underwear in separate bags and then just chuck the full bags in the hotel drawers on arrival. I also use them for items that might leak.

I kneel on the bags to get the air out, and then zip 'em up! :teeth:

I did read a tip on another board a few years ago which sounded mega-organised, but quite tempting. For young children (i.e. small clothes items!), pack a complete outfit in a bag with a tee-shirt, shorts, socks, pants, even hair ribbons, etc., then the child just picks a bag for the day and everything's ready without rummaging through suitcases/drawers.

I confess to being obsessive enough to wishing my DDs had been young enough for me to get away with this at the time! Fortunately for them, they weren't ;)

I used them to take the washing home in

I use one of those canvas sweater shelves, each days clothes is placed on one shelf, then when I get there I only have to hang it up! it takes up a lot of room on the outward but because I don't care how creased the clothes get on the return I stuff it all in the case and have loads of room left for souvenirs.
