we are driving to wdw in november and want to stop at charleston, sc, on the way home for a day or two.

has anyone ever stayed here? there are a ton of hotels listed on-line and we have no idea where to stay or where not to stay!

any info is much appreciated!

Charleston is a beautiful city. Great walking town with wonderful places to eat.

We have always been happy with the Hampton Inn - Historic District. It is located across the street from the Charleston visitors center. Great service, hotel interior is nicely done, & the price is right.

They do seem to book up early, so if you are interested I would at least make some tentative ressies once you know your dates.

The Hampton-Inn is in a great location and was renovated about 3 years ago. It shares a parking lot with the Embassyt Suites which is also a great hotel. We enjoyed the market area of Charleston, the aquarium (although the cost to get in is higher than it should be). We also enjoyed one of the many historic plantation tours. We have also stayed at the best western-King Charles Inn which is very close to the Market--I found this hotel to be very noisy, and showing its age, but it is in a great location for walking, and usually offers a great rate.

I agree that the Hampton Inn is a good choice for vacationers.

Be sure to take a plantation tour. You should enjoy the stop.
