So we leave tomorrow on our long awaited well deserved trip - its been overwhelming these past 18 months.
Okay so we are brining our 8y/o nephew his FIRST trip
and he is soo excited
So he was supposed to arrive at our house later this afternoon BUT yesterday his Mom decides I'm going to bring him today - I all but tell her no because we(DD and me) need to get the house ready for the pet sitter pack and numerous other little things that I don't want to wait to the last minute to do.
I strongly suggest to stick w/ the original plans as Ian will be very bored and we will have NO time to go to the arcade, ice cream etc - but seeing this is a losing battle he arrives yesterday afternoon in the midst pretrip hell.
Okay calm down
- So 1st thing he wants to do is go in the pool - I tell him not now I need to get things done for the trip - and he blurts out "but Mommy said I could go in the pool when we got here" Okay when I explained to Mom that I was VERY busy I also told her to tell Ian that there would be a very good chance he would NOT be going in the pool today.
Okay so when they walked in I had a table FULL of little toys that WOULD have been packed and given to DNephew one each day(used to do this w/DD when she was younger - SAVED lots of money) So of course he sees them and begins to open some and demanding them NOW - so I say They are for your trip and MOM states whats the difference if he gets them now
Okay moving on - also on the table are 4 prs of new shorts 5 new tops and a bathing suit - and MOM ask "Whats this?" Oh I say just a few things I picked up for Ian for the trip when asked why I just told her DD has a few new tops so I wanted Ian to have some too.
Oh thats nice but I packed the clothes he's wearing and the new clothes disappeared into a Kohls bag and off MOM and BF went.
So decided to check Ian suitcase - 1st everything smelled bad 2nd only 3 matching outfits of which 2 have staining on them one old pr of flip flops and a pr of sneakers that are VERY worn that a few small holes have formed near the toes
I don't understand WHY she would take the clothes if she KNEW what was packed
Better ? WHY DID I LET HER! Guess I kinda felt like I had insulted her by purchasing the clothes which REALLY was not my intent,
Well No matter we leave tomorrow and if I so please I will stop at the Bealls outlet near the Prime outlets(because its 15%off fridays for those 49 and younger) PLUS I am hoping to see already discounted prices and buy a couple of outfits!
Okay so if anyone made it this far thanks for letting me vent - I will attempt to do a daily blurb trip report and I KNOW there needs to be food porn or everyone will turn on me.
