(I thought this might be a good Dis topic...)
Aside from taking them down and verbally telling people, "Please don't use the decorative towels," how do you keep people from not using your decorative towels to dry their hands?
I always leave a hand towel right next to the sink, but people still always use my decorative towels! They get all matted down when people use them!
And...
What about this...
... And the presence of this...
... Makes people think, "Gosh, I am SURE I should use the former!"

It would never occur to me that the towels that are hanging in a guest bath are not to be touched! I have guest towels too but after we have guests I just toss them in the washer.
, but mine are equally as obviously "decorative". Yes, they are washable, but once you wash them, they fade and change shapes. I try and wash them not too often, as they can't be bought anymore and I love them!
I think not.
