Stop overs?

My MIL is going over next month with a 6 hour stop over on the way. How does this work? Do that get their bags, go throe customs and check in?

Can you please let me know.

P.S Do you get your passport stamped at the stop over?

Assuming the stop over is in the US, then everything like Immigration and Customs will be taken care of at that point of entry.

After Immigration, where her passport will be stamped and the top part of her green waiver form removed, bags will be collected prior to clearing Customs. It should only be a short hop after Customs to a bag drop where her bags will be taken and loaded onto her connecting flight.

On arrival in Orlando, she will be an internal passenger and should go straight to the bag collect carousels.

We have connected through New York and Atlanta and it has always followed this pattern.
