My 15yo son started up the lawnmower out front this morning at 11ish (it's 12.50 here) when my neighbour came running out to say that her baby is napping so could he please stop. I was there with him & asked if the baby was sick. She said 'no, it's nap time'. Um. Ok I guess. Though we don't have a whole lot of time today but I said we'd leave it for a little while. So at noon he resumed cutting the grass and came in two minutes later to tell me she came back out (frightened the life out of him - kinda sidled up behind him
) and said the baby's still sleeping. I told him to carry on mowing - this is the only chance we're gonna get to do this today.
Honestly, if the child was sick I'd certainly have told ds to stop (again) but the earth should stop moving on it's axis cause it's baby's nap time?
I have 3 children myself - 15, 12 and 5. But I never expected other people to change their routines to suit my parenting.
Thoughts?
