Stones Pay Little In Taxes

The link tells how the wealthy pay little in taxes while most of us have little choice in protecting our earnings. I guess the tax rates in the UK are still very high, but the Rolling Stones avoided paying taxes. I have heard this is how the Kennedy clan has avoided paying "death taxes" and keep passing their wealth from generation to generation. I guess rich liberals can be for high taxes as long as they don't have to pay them.

We own some "tax free" government bonds, but otherwise have to pay up.

Interesting. "Tax exiles". :rotfl2:

Tax evasion is just another sign of the cancer eating away at our society, the cancer of Entitlement Mentality. There is bias in terms of wealth: Some wealthy people do it, most don't. Some waiters and waitresses do it, most don't. It's not a matter of politics either; tax evaders and Entitlement Mentality in general seem to be well represented among Democrats, Republicans, and independents. Some people are just self-centered and selfish. That's all.

There is a big difference between tax evasion (illegal) and tax avoidance (legal). I don't believe that Sir Mick Jagger and Co have evaded tax, only avoided tax quite legitimately.
As for the self centred and selfish comment, what is wrong with lawfully arranging your affairs to minimise your personal tax burden?

Yes, you're correct. Tax avoidance shouldn't be painted with the same brush as tax evasion. My error. What the Stones and the Kennedy's do isn't malevalent at all.
