I have been sick since about midnight of last night. The night previous I ate spaghetti, chinese pot stickers, and drank water. I am thinking the problem was the pot stickers. I was up since midnight throwing up and having .. erhm .. bowel movements every 10 minutes while throwing up.

I have been thinking it is a stomach flu. What do you think?

It is the begining of spring break for me and I have to be in a car for 8 hours with the family tomorrow.

do you have a fever or the chills? if you don't have either of those, it could be something that you ate. but if you have a fever then you've probably got the flu.

I work in a dr's office and unfortunately there's a LOT of that going around. The good news is that it does seem confined to 24 hrs., so hopefully you are feeling better really soon!

Thank you!

In January I had the same thing. I woke up around 4am on a Saturday morning because I felt so nauseous. I threw up every 2 hours or so and then the fever and body aches started. Oh, I was miserable! But, by the next day I was better - just tired.

Good luck with your 8 hour car trip tomorrow!

I got a fever about 3 hours ago.

i'd keep an eye on it, drink lots of fluids, eat something like crackers that will absorb and not come back up

like everyone else said, it's usually a 24 hour thing. i hope you start feeling a little better soon! i HATE getting sick like that!

Ginger ale, if you have it, is the standard settle the tummy drink. If not, try plain old water. And, once you can keep down the water, you will need to drink something that will help get your system back in balance. Gatorade will do the trick. And, from experience, try to keep some immodium down--once you can get one part of the problem solved, you slow down your fluid loss.

It really could be be food poisoning. It's actually a myth that food poisoning doesn't cause fever etc.. Most types include fever as a symptom. Every bad case of food poisoning I've had included high fevers, body aches and chills....just like the flu.

Either way, just stay as hydrated as possible and rest!

Hope you feel better fast!!

Sounds like you have what went through our family a couple of weeks ago. It lasted about 12 hours for each of us (the really bad part and fever), then we were just weak and tired for another 24 hours, and then none of us had much of an appetite for the next couple of days. On the positive side, I lost 2 pounds :rotfl:

OP, I hope you're not driving tomorrow. You won't feel like it at all. Drink fluids as soon as you can.
