We arrived at OKW last night. We had an uneventful flight and good DME trip to the resort. Our room was ready (we arrived at 4:45pm), but carpet was still damp where it had been shampooed. Check-in was easy.

Upon arriving at MCO, I got a call on my cel phone from Garden Grocer - we were expecting our order to be delivered between 7-9pm - he informed me that our food had already been delivered to the resort and was being stored by the Bell staff including perishables (in the fridge). The Bell staff retrieved the items and transported us to our room. We have a 2nd floor villa in bldg 29. View is of golf course - thru the trees.

We enjoyed the 6:45 Candlelight Processional last night- Rita Moreno was the narrator- very animated and expressive. We have seen her narrate in the past and she continues to enthusiastically perform.

While at MK today we were asked to participate in a preview screening of the soon-to-open Monsters,Inc Laugh Floor Comedy Club located where Timekeeper (and earlier Circle Vision) used to be. The show is an improv comedy club, starring characters from Monsters, Inc (Mike is the MC) and uses technology similar to that of Turtle Talk (at the LS) - where the animated characters interact in real time with members of the audience. Afterwards there was a brief focus group discussion about the show which is still in rehearsal. Our show had a lot of room for improvement, but has great potential. The show is set to open in February, but I would expect more previews followed by soft opening over the next 2 months.

We have a reservation for the new Nemo show (DVC member preview) on Monday and will attend the BCV Annual Meeting on Tuesday afternoon.

If anyone will be there, please say "Hi". We also hope to be at the Merry Mixer on Thursday. Crowds were minimal today. Temps were in the mid-80s. Forecast is around 80 the next 2 days then upper 60s Mon - Thursday. Sure beats the snow that fell at home today though.

:teeth:

I'm glad to read that things are going so well. My DCuz had an ME driver like you described during your last visit. Her's couldn't quite find BWV.

Enjoy your visit, we'll be at BWV 2 weeks from today.

PS. Is there a reference to STOLPORT?

Sorry - I left that out!

There is definitely some contruction activity going on at the STOLPORT along the monorail. There is heavy equipment there and some excavation is underway. At this point it is way too early to tell if it's related to a building. The excavation thus far appears (to my untrained eye) that it is for utility infrastructure - there are some trenches dug with piping stored nearby. Trenches appear to be what would be intended for sewage/electrical/water lines to be installed - but it's way to early to tell what the ultimate purpose could be.

At the CR North Wing, there is a small army of workers attending to the interior of the building. Still lots of demolition (of interior structure) apparently going on, but no sign of anything happening to the physical structure of the building. In addition, no evidence of any activity at the tennis center. That entire area is cordoned off with chain-link fencing covered with the familiar Disney construction green tarping.

Stay tuned! :)

Where did you find the information on the DVC member preview? I've looked on the member site, but can't find the information. I did see information for a annual passholder preview, but not DVC. Thanks!

Sorry, I misspoke - it is for AP holders and not DVC members. You need to register at least 3 days in advance on the AP site and print off a voucher for each person attending. Each person also needs their AP and a photo ID in order to attend. You must select a specific show. The previews are only for Passholders - no guests. There are also preview shows for general public each day on a first-come basis.

-->that would likey be the "dvc@contemporary construction trailer area" you saw.

-->that would likely be the abatment activities prior to demolition

But...as you say...."stay tuned" :)

Just returned from SSR, 11/20-11/30 :)

The day we visited the CR, not much was happening. A few trucks inside the fenced off area, not many workers, but a large stack of pallets in the parking lot.

At the STOLPORT, the work taking place appeared to be installation of drainage/sewer piping to service the construction trailers expectd to occupy that area. Also, an earthen burm was being built up at the south end of the runway, at the Vista Blvd end.

We went by the Nemo theater at AK on 11/25 while folks were lining up for the 12:15 show. The line stretched from the theater all the way to Chester and Hester's.

Doc -
I saw the construction at STOL too. We just got back today from a stay in the Tower at CR. We had a view of the North Wing from our balcony. I don't know if this makes sense but I will try to explain.

From our balcony there didn't seem to be much going on in the interior rooms, there was some painting going on (according to hubby who paints for a living - buildings - because he said it was the sound of a pump). Didn't appear to be any demolition other than a remodel from his perspective. (Hubby paints Lowes and Wal-Marts, does some light construction for them, so he kind of knows his stuff ;) )

But from the monorail, coming to CR from MK, there were some lights on from that view (I guess the rooms facing the road??), I tried to get my camera to zoom in to see but no such luck. But to me and him it appeared to be nothing more than a remodel.

But there was definatly some digging going on at STOL when we drove past.

Cobbler, your husband's account matches what I was told by friends that work there. A rehab similar to the North Wing, just more extensive due to hurricane damage and asbestos removal. They have never given me wrong information before so I really don't think they would this time.

I think DVC will go there eventually but right now at the North Wing, I still think it is rehab only.

PS - We were on the 9th floor facing Bay Lake and we were on the North Wing side (non Chef Mickey's side).

So we could see right into the fenced area and into some of the rooms. But couldn't see a whole lot because of the angle of our balcony being a bit higher. That and my near sightedness :)

The noise from the CR could have been neg air machines for abatement. They run 24 hours until clearance is obtained.
