Is this allowed? I'm not sure how well by 2+ds will handle waiting in lines, so I thought I might keep him strapped in for some of the lines, can I do this?

What about for shows at MGM? I don't know if he will nap, but I thought we might be able to get on one of the show lines towards the end of his nap, maybe 30 min. before showtime.

I originally thought for the rides, I would have DH walk him around and join us later, but now I fear that would be viewed as "cutting". If most lines aren't bad, we will probably skip really long ones, I'm just not sure what to expect as this is our first trip (in two weeks!!!)

Strollers are not allowed in most lines. A couple of lines will allow strollers until a certain point and then a CM will take it from you and park it. I can't think of a show that I've seen a stroller in, I think you have to park it then too.

In most lines you cannot bring strollers. There are stroller parking spots outside of most lines in WDW. I also believe that most MGM shows have stoller parking outside the lines. The one exception that I can think of is Fantasmic. There is a "parking lot" for stollers before going into the actual seating area so you can keep the little ones in the stoller most of the time while waiting to get into the ampitheater.

I've never seen strollers in lines before. If long lines are a concern for you, might I suggest a Tour Guide Mike subscription? I've never used it, but I've seen many others giving it high marks for the difference it makes to their park touring. Like I said, we've never used TGM, but we do use the Unofficial Guide To WDW and we have never been in a line longer than 15 minutes.

The only attractions that allow strollers in line (that I can remember anyway) are the Safari ride at AK and Fantasmic (which has a stroller parking are just before you enter the amphitheater). Just about every where else you have to park the stroller before entering the queue.

Definitely utilize Fast Pass which will minimize your wait times. Also, when ds napped in his stroller, that was our time to do rider swaps on the big rides that he was too small for.

I too am using the unofficial guide and the touring plans per the website, I would be thrilled if the longest line was 15 minutes!

The ride I'm most concerned about is Jungle Cruise (okay and POTC) because I believe the Fast pass machine will not be working at the end of August, but if the line is long, we will just skip it and try it again later.

Never knew I could have so many questions, but probably am overthinking at this point!

I too am using the Unofficial Guide to WDW 2006 by Bob Sehlinger. Although you can't stay in line with the stroller, you can do what's called "The Hail Mary Pass"

The Hail Mary Pass according to the book states that "certain lines are configured to allow you and your smaller children to pass under the rail to join your partner just before entry or boarding.

"This technique allows children and one adult to rest, snack, cool off, or potty while another adult or older sibling stands in line. Other guests are understanding about this strategy when used for young children. Expect opposition, however, if you try to pass older children or more than one adult under the rail."

Hope this was helpful to you! :sunny:

Some CMs look the other way when people with strollers enter a line. In one case, the lady behind me kept ramming the stroller into my heal finally drawing blood! She was apologetic but kept doing it anyway. This was in the line for Splash Mountain. She made it all the way to the stairs when another CM took the stroller from her. Another time at Buzz a couple wheeled their stroller into the cue right passed a CM who saw them but said nothing. The CM inside asked if they had a medical pass for the stroller. When they said no, she made them take it outside themselves. The wife mutter she wished someone had told them about the no strollers in line rule before they were embarressed. I felt bad for them.

As for cutting in line with a small child, I think most people (myself included) would rather an adult take care of a small child outside the line and then join their spouse as they enter the ride. I never mind people doing this. I figure it saved me from listening to a child whine about how long the wait is. I can't tell you how many times I've seen parents scream at their kids in line because they are impatient or whining. It ruins the experience for the rest of us.

We have taken my DD on numerous trips since she was 9 months. She has always stood in line with us. We take bubbles, snacks, and a small magnadoddle. Plus you can play I Spy while in line. Actually you'll find that others will probably join in on your games. You can also tell your own stories, or retell favorite Disney stories while waiting. My DD loves to make up stories that star her as the princess. Also a good sling/pouch will be helpful it little one's legs get tired of standing. (You can find some good deals on used ones at thebabywearer.com) Use fast pass when you can. And use the touring suggestions to avoid the heaviest crowds.
