Could someone that's been on Magic recently tell me if they still have Stollen bread on Goofy's Galley?

I'm drooling just thinking about it .... (there should be a drooling emoticon on this board)... :cloud9:

never heard of stollen bread. at first when i read it, i thought someone stoled your bread:rotfl2:

It has never been at Goofy's Galley that I've seem; definitely was not there in December. It used to be served at the Palo brunch.

I got it at Goofy's in October and November on the Magic of this year, but NOT on my December sailing.

I was however able to get my dining room server to bring me some for the kids, yum yum!

OK, I looked it up on Wikipedia and now I want some, they better hav eit on Magic or I'm walking the plank,LOL

You may not find it but it ain't me, i aint' stollen nuting! LOL

I had to look it up - I do remember seeing that at Palo's but not anywhere else on my last couple of cruises.

Hi Girlzmom!

There was some in Cove Cafe, I think at breakfast time and into the morning. Yum!

:lmao:

OK, I REALLY really hope they have it at GG. Since I won't be able to go to Palo's brunch this time around... poop...

hmm.. grlzmom, when you requested it at the dining room was it during bfast at lumiere?

I wonder if I could ask room service for it.... do you think they'll get some for me if I beg? :rotfl:

I would expect to find it around the holidays because it is a more traditional type bread. To those people that found it on the ship, what month did you sail?

We had it at Goofy's Galley in May 2009. I recognized it because we had it at Palo earlier in the week. I think they have it in Goofy's Galley sporadically in the mornings.

Stollen bread is a traditional german christmas cake. I would be quiet suprised if they would serve that in May. If they do please let me know as I love it and it's one of my favourite food during christmas season

It is not the traditional German Christmas version. It is flavored with almond paste but does not have candied fruit or any kind of frosting/glaze/powdered topping. It is vey good. We have sailed in Jan., Feb., Apr., Oct., Nov., and Dec. and it has always been available, both at Goofy's and at Palo brunch.

They had it at Palo brunch last week on the Magic. Our server Andrea suggested having it with a dollop of whipped cream and some berries...whoa, she was right - it was sooo yummy!

On cruise in May they had Stollen Bread at GG for breakfast the first couple days and then on the third day we asked for it the CM had no idea what we were talking about disappointed we went into TS and had our breakfast with no Stollen bread. A few minutes later another CM who had overheard our conversation brought us a plate of Stollen bread and said they have it every morning at the Cove Cafe. So that is where we went to get our "fix" for the rest of the cruise and again on June on our next cruise.

The stollen used to be outstanding but they changed the recipe. I only saw it in Palo a few weeks ago, but it is now coated in sugar with some fruit throughout the dough. It's way to sweet now, IMO. I was disappointed. :(
