Stocking your Owner's Locker - just had an idea!

I know many people (I'm one!) who send down a box of items like full-size toiletries to put in their Locker when they set it up. Ground shipping for a box similar to what I sent is about $25 - not much, but still an added expense.

Well, there is a wonderful online shopping service called Alice (like the Brady's housekeeper). They sell all manner of household goods, shelf foods, even - I order everything from toothpaste to toilet paper from them. Their prices are great...but their shipping is FREE! So one order could go a long way toward stocking a Locker, without having to use up suitcase space or incur shipping charges.

Alice really is great - I love them *almost* as much as I love my Lockers. (and that's a lotta love, people)

Rent a car for a day and do your shopping for the villa and the OL at Walmart. You can also stop by the outlet stores. :goodvibes

Double-check to make sure that their is not a package fee at the resort.

Any of the convention center resorts, like Boardwalk, charge a package delivery fee. To clarify this does NOT apply to items delivered to, or by, Bell Services. This is for packages that arrive via the mail dock.

I do not know if this applies to BLT, since it is an extension of The Contemporary. Can anyone confirm for the OP?

Actually, I don't need this confirmed - I do know it is the case that some resorts charge a receiving fee, BLT included. But for those who are planning on shipping items anyway, the fee would be charged one way or the other. My point is that by using Alice, there's no shipping charge to pay on top of the delivery charge.

My Lockers are already well stocked - I'm not looking for suggestions on how to fill them - just offering another option for people who are stocking theirs.

Tara, What a great suggestion! I've ordered from them before....actually, coffee to be delivered to my home.

Never thought of using them for WDW, but will definitely consider them for future WDW trips.

Just chimeing in to say I love Alice.com My son will become a big fan as he moves off to college and this gives me the flexibility to get him nearly anythng he would need if he runs out of cash!

I have a few questions about shipping:

1. How far in advance can you ship? What I'm really getting at is how long will the hotel hold your shipment for?

2. When you ship, whose attention should it be sent to? Bell services? And how do you indicate they need to hold it for you?

Tara - I will def check out Alice. I usually use Garden Grocer and they charge the delivery fee plus I always include a nice tip. Both of those extra fees add up and this could be a nice savings!

Thanks,
Robyn :)

I have thought about doing this too. Does anyone know how much the deliver charge to the Boardwalk is?

WOW!!!! I absolutely LOVE this site! My daughter leaves for college next week, and this will definitely come in handy (instead of me shopping and having to go to the post office). Thank you for the info!

If I order in the morning, my order usually ships that day and arrives 2 days later. I just ordered on July 25th in the evening and my order shipped on the 26th and arrived on the 28th. If I were arriving on a Saturday, I'd probably order anytime between Saturday to Monday prior.

2. When you ship, whose attention should it be sent to? Bell services? And how do you indicate they need to hold it for you?

Keep in mind I haven't done this - I just realized it was a possibility. But I have ordered items online and had them shipped to myself at Disney. Ship it to your own attention c/o the resort. But use the shipping fields as follows:

First name: just your first name
Last name: last name PLUS your reservation number
Address: Resort name
Address 2: street address

Bell services will hold the box for several days at least. I've had items arrive a week early with no problem.

When you check in, it'll be easy to describe the box - it's vivid, royal blue and black. :)

I really love it - really. There aren't a lot of companies that I recommend so enthusiastically, but Alice is on that short but wonderful list!

Great! Thanks for the info... I just registered on the website and I am going to give it a try for stuff I need at home :)

Thanks Tara for the tip! Got a couple of trips coming up soon, and avoiding shipping a box in advance for "refresher" items would be nice.

What a wonderful idea - thank you fo sharing your idea!!

I didnt even know Alice existed but now that I do I am checking it out for sure! Even though I have already bought a few things to ship down, I have a whole list to go for my OL.
