I managed to finally buy her some things for christmas now I am at a loss as what to put in her stocking.....all I have so far are 2 little LS tee shirts I got on sale from the childrens place....Any and all advice is welcome!!!

Thanks in advance

I have a one-year-old DD too, and I am struggling with the same thing. Last year seemed to be easier! So far all I got is some gentle bubble bath because she looooves her bath and would sit in there forever.

Otherwise what about goldfish crackers, teddy grahams, fruit snacks...that kind of thing.

Or books...or cute little hair things if she has hair. (My DD still doesn't have too much)...cute little socks or slippers.

Anyone else?

My DD is turning one 5 days after Christmas. For her stocking Santa is bringing the Cinderella sippy cups that are insulated. Cinderella DVD (more for Mom), A cute little purse that I found at a Baby Boutique. We only put 3 gifts in our kids stocking as a tradition. The tradition is to only have 3 because the baby Jesus got 3...we like it and it seems to keep me from going way overboard on stocking stuffers.

Yeah I am one of those idiots that goes overboard..LOL I shouldn't but I just do it and I cannot control myself...DD5 has so much for hers it will not fit in her stocking..:(

I thought about sippy cups but we have soooooo many from when dd5 was little. We already have the Cinderella DVD but she hates tv anyway.

I must add though I am not a spender, but we always splurge on our kids for christmas and birthdays....Yeah they are spoiled..I know!!

Fisher Price has some Christmas theme peek a blocks, or maybe some Little People. My DS is one and hes' getting a book, a travel size see n say, a new toothbrush (a tradition in our family), a hot wheels car, and some animal crackers.

Maybe crayons, a coloring book, small board books, pull back cars (my dd loves these!), DVD's (Baby Einstein movies are great!)......

I was just about to suggest the Fisher Price Christmas Peek a Boo blocks. They have small sets at Target in their Stocking Stuffer section. They also have tubes of Christmas themed Little People. When DS was little (8 1/2 months his first Christmas) we put a soft stufed puppy in his stocking and it has been his favorite throughout the years. Gerber toddler snacks would also be a nice addition.

We always have a stuffed animal peaking out of the stocking (actually usually a Disney beanie or stuffed)

Also, we like to give our children each a Christmas Ornament. I write the date and their name with permanent marker. Each daughter has her own box with her own ornaments. When they marry and leave me they will get to take them with them.

And as for toys, I found that when they were one - figurines were a toy favorite.

Good Luck and enjoy!

Travel sized Johnson & Johnson soaps are helpful when it's time to go on the road...Pacifiers & clips (if they use them).

you guys are great, I can always count on you when I need help....

Lots of great ideas I will go shopping tomorrow!

Small board books, baby snacks, music CD

Speaking of CD's, I bought the Disney Princess Lullaby CD. Emma goes to sleep with it playing every night...it is really relaxing! princess:

O.K. I'm not being rude here, so no flames, please! Do you really fill a one year olds Christmas sock?

Yep, and 21 years ago, we filled my DS sock-he was 6 weeks old. :goodvibes He didn't know, but I did! And when they are little, you can get away with some 'out there' things! I remember the year that he was one, he didn't get a stuffed toy popping out of the top of the stocking....he got a banana! :rotfl2: He l-o-v-e-d bananas! For babies/toddlers...teething rings, keys, rattles, socks, shirts, powder, shampoo, Baby's Own soap, love the fishy cracker idea, books, books and more books!, mittens, classical music CDs.....

Part of the enjoyment of being a new parent is splurging on your first baby, filling their stocking is more for the parent's fun than the child, but it is an easy way to give small gifts. It's also a way for new parents to start their own traditions.

This year the baby in my family is my fifth and I still will fill his stocking because all of my other kids would not understand why Santa would fill theirs and not his, they would think that wasn't fair and would actually be quite upset. I have always done this with my kids. I don't spend alot and I usually try to get them things they need, like someone's suggestion of sippy cups and snacks.

I agree with the board books and Gerber snacks. Some other ideas are stacking cups, small bath toys, bubbles, small balls, coloring book, baby spoons, comb and brush set, toothbrush and small stuffed animal. Hope that helps some.
Our son is 17 months old now- he was 7 months last Christmas and we had fun with his stocking and presents! This year, we picked up some small things at WDW and on our cruise in October that we kept for stocking stuffers!

LOL, I was thinking about my own childhood while reading through this and remembered looking at the pictures of all the toys and stuff around the tree during my first Christmas. I am quite certain that Santa filled my stocking that year too, but of course I have no idea what Santa left me 38 years ago. One tradition in our house was something that my Dad always got that he wanted to pass on to me......there was always an orange in my stocking. He said that when he was a little boy that oranges were expensive and that it was a treat for him to have one in his stocking. While there was a period of my life that I did not exactly appreciate that, I get a little choked up just thinking about it as I type. Maggie

My 17 month old is getting a cute Elmo toy phone - I had to get it because she said "Elmo" and pointed it to it at the grocery. I also got her some Disney Saf- T- pops - I should probably do the toothbrush thing, too, eh? Anyway, the suckers are only for while she's in her high chair and it will probably take her over a year to eat them! I love Christmas!

I sent you a PM.
