We celebrate Hanukkah and i like to give my boys a gift each night = 8 nights.

This year i am buying 1 big gift - never done this before so now i need to come up with VERY SMALL gifts for the other nights...

My 9 year old i purchased an ipod touch -- so now i have 7 other nights to fill - i have an itunes card for 1 night and i'll purchase a case for another - oh and i preordere him a book - so thats still 4more nights - any ideas?? by small i mean under 5bucks!

Then i have my 11yr old - i so wanted to buy him the Kindle but he does not want it - thinking either a laptop ( he does not want a small netbook) or perhaps a tv for his room - also just ordered him a book - so again i need 6 SMALL gifts??

They like lottery tickets so i can give them that for 1 or 2 other nights....

ideas welcome

What about some $5 giftcards to like fast food joints or if you go with the laptop you could get some accessories for it pretty cheap.

Well my boy is 10 (will be 11 in 2 weeks) and he would love the following:

*popular winter hats with the long braids down the sides (EVERY boy around here wears them) I just picked up a Syracuse one at Dicks

*Jelly Marbles are great gifts! they are using them in Science class and the teacher gave each of the kids one to bring home & you'd think it was a brick made of gold the way my kids carried on. I found a box of online at Amazon for $6 (called amazing spheres). I admit - they are pretty cool.

*Football cards or baseball cards

*Fake Phitens are at Amazon for like $3-5 right now & my son claims "who cares if they're real, they look just as cool"

*a Cool magic trick that they can goof around with might be fun

*A small card game in a tin box, like Phase 10 or Dice game like Left, Right, Center

Hope this helps....again - strongly suggest the Jelly Marbles

This is what I'm filling my dses (ages 8 & 11) stockings with.
Itunes card
earbuds
Lego watch
20Q game
magnetic rocks
Lego minifigs
nerf darts/vortex discs
baseball cards
wallet
stretchy gloves
battery toothbrush

Lots of great ideas here & some I plan to use for my DS9! Another idea is a small flashlight...I know we have quite the variety of those around here. How about a craft kit, science kit, or some art supplies?

Good luck!

Great thread! I plan to get DS9 lego minifigs, nerf darts (thanks for that suggestion!), a toothbrush, maybe some smell good stuff, he started wearing deo this year, slipper socks, maybe some funny boxers, and candy.

How about a movie ticket or gc to some place he likes to pick up snacks? DS is very big about having his own money to spend.
