Stludios to Downtown Disney?

We will be at the Studios and would like to go to Downtown that night. How do we do that? Is there bus to Downtown at the Studios or will we have to go to a hotel then to Downtown?

I really wish Disney added a bus from parks to downtown disney as it's often a PITA to get there outside of from your resort. I'd also love a resort to resort bus.

Disney did offer DTD to park transportation...way back when. They stopped providing it because so many offsite guests were parking at DTD, in order to avoid parking fees at the parks, and then taking a park bus to their destination.
Resort to resort buses would add a huge dollar amount to the resort rates. I can't imagine how Disney would decide how to run which buses between which resorts. Most of the truly desirable resort destinations are at resorts that are very close to a park..so heading to the park and then heading to that resort is easy.

If I were at DHS and wanted to get to DTD that night, I would just boat or walk over to BW. The walk is about 20 mins, the boat ride itself is 20+ mins but there is usually a wait time for the boat to get there. Then, take the DTD bus from BW.
Or you can take a bus to SSR and then walk from there to DTD, but it can be a longish walk. Or you can take their boat transport.

I usually do something similar when relying on Disney Transportation. I just usually go to POR or POFQ and take the boat. Very relaxing.

I would take the bus to Saratoga Springs since it's the closest resort to Downtown Disney and then you can take the walkway which goes there.
