Well, Tanya & I are back from WDW again and let me share with you the new ride we encountered, "Stitch's great escape".

I haven't posted in this board in forever so hi everyone!

ok, on to the goodies...

We recieved a flyer in the mail that got sent out to all annual passholders about the new ride so we decided to take it for a spin. We arrived at the front of the ride on the 6th that night and there was a large crowd of people trying to get in. Most were turned away because they didn't have annual passes or were vacation club members. We got in the line, flashed our passes and we were in!

We waited at the front doors of the ride for about 5 minutes then the doors swung open. As you walk in, you fill a room with 4 tv monitors. As the doors shut, the monitors come on and the galactic federation queen comes on talking about how you are new recruits and you are working where all the "naughty" aliens get sent until they become "nice" again. We were then given over to captain Gantu and headed into the next room.

As we walked in, there are three levels on which you can stand, all offering a great view. In front of us was an animatronic robot who was the officer training us. there are two different levels of naughty aliens sent here, level one being petty crimes like jaywalking, etc... and level 2 is the naughtier aliens. After going through a few minutes of cool special effects and lecturing, capt. Gantu comes on the monitor and explains a "LEVEL THREE IS COMING!" After some quick fear by the robot officer, we were ushered into the "teleportation chamber".

The old layout & seats from the extraTERRORestrial ride are still here, complete with the "X-tech" logo on them. So we have 60 seconds to get in our seats and we promptly did so. After the time is up, pleakley explains about the seats lowering, etc. We're all strapped in as the teleportation starts to take place. as the smoke clears from the chamber, Stitch is standing there and everyone thinks it's a mistake b/c he's "so small and cute". They even have those big guns from the scene in the movie where they lock on Stitch due to his DNA... Well, next thing you know, he escapes and the guns are trying to find him while he spits EVERYWHERE! We got a good bit wet.

Well, finally he cuts the power and it's lights out! Then through the surround sound in the seats you hear him moving around and even coming in behind you! I don't want to ruin too much, but all I will say is beware the chili dog and when he tries to touch you ;)

I give this one a 5 out of 5 b/c I thought it wouldn't be anywhere near as fun as it was and the interaction was excellent!

Hi JoNo! Thanks for the review. One question...are pregnant women allowed on this ride? It's not considered a thrill ride, right?

Thanks for this report! It's nice to hear something good about this ride. Everyone is being so negative but it sounds great to me. I loved AE so I think I should enjoy this as well...now it just has a little added Disney flare (Stitch)! Thanks again!

In all honesty, I didn't ask, but if I remember correctly there might have been a pregnant woman in there at least once and I didn't see any signs stating they wern't allowed or to be cautious...(we went twice!)

When it was Alien Encounter, it didn't have any restrictions for pregnancy (probably because the "thrills" are pretty much all in your imagination).
It did have 4 restrictions/warnings:
1) Height (because the "restraint" contained the special effects and they would not be at the right height in someone too short)
2) Neck and shoulder (because the "restraint" rested on the shoulders and might cause pain if it was too tight on the shoulders of someone who had shoulder or neck problems)
3) Fear of dark or confined spaces (for obvious reasons)
4) Electromagnetic fields (possibly a problem for people with older pacemakers).
I expect Stitch has the same warnings as Alien Encounter had since it's really a re-theming of the same attraction.

Hmmm, this may mess up (if not erase) all the pictures from your digital camera (should the EMF is actually strong enough to bother pace makers)

Does anyone have the official word on the height requirement for Stitch?

Thanks...
Jess

Height requirements is 35 inches. I asked several CM's standing there with their sticks.

I had my digital camera in my pocket and it didn't do anything to the photos or the memory card.
