I would like to ask all the STITCH fans: WHY are those seats so CONFINING.
I mean it is after-all NOT a ride. It has been so long since I was on it (although I did love AE) I don't remember if the seats move, BUT I don't think so, so why are we locked IN so????
You're NOT locked-in (but that's what you were SUPPOSED to THINK on AE).
The harness serves several "special effects" purposes.
1. It contains your individual audio earphones (the ride is created in "binaural" stereo sound). The harness is designed so that the earphones align properly with your ears so the sound will work properly. The binaural sound is what makes it SOUND like there are other guests "reacting" to the action, as well as the sound of things, people, "aliens" behind or all around you... its all in the special audio track.
2. The harness "moves" (touches your shoulders) when Stitch is "running around the room".
3. The harness contains the air-cannons that allow for "hot breath" (or similar) effects.
4. The harness contains the "aroma aerator" that allows for the "chili-dog" aroma. (And folks, its not a REAL chili-dog, ITS JUST A JOKE, for cryin' out loud.)
5. The harness contains (contained) the "flippers" that made it feel like the Alien was "touching" you near your head.
If you don't LIKE the harness, you can simply push it up, out of the way with not much arm pressure. But its the KEY to most of the effects in this attraction.
Its actually very creative how the Imagineers designed so much "interactivity" in an apparatus that's "disguised" as a "restraint".
Stitch's GE and AE are very advanced attractions.
I marvel at the creativity, care, and trouble they went to, to make a unique attraction, unlike most others at WDW.
But I know that all seems lost on many here, so I'll just shut up about it.
