Stitch at the Polynesian???

I guess I can spill the beans now since the day is almost over in Florida but I was told that they were going to have a special Lilo and Stitch appearance at the Polynesian for the opening of the movie. If anyone is there or returns from there let me know what happened if anything.

I also heard from a Disney store manager that 'Ohana's character breakfast might start to include Lilo and Stitch! I said to my DH "This movie is going to make the Polynesian even MORE popular!" I'd better book now for summer 2004 - LOL!

You'll be able to check it out when you're there on your 1 year anniversary! I bet you can't wait!

You are right. I can't wait. I was reading a review of Lilo and Stitch and they are saying Stitch will be the next Winnie the Pooh as far as how popular he will be. We are going to wait to see the movie till we get there in a week.

Lilo & Stitch at the Polynesian! that is the coolest news I've heard in a while.
dh and I were all set on going to see it tonight, and guess what I check to see the times, and it IS NOT playing at any movie theatre near our house!!!!! the theatre we go to all the time was advertising it like crazy, and they arent featuring it! it's crazy!
the nearest theatre it's playing at is an hour away, so we'll go tomorrow or Sunday! oh well....
wish I could see it in WDW!

Thanks Laura. I figured I would be more in the mood to see there not only because it is at Disney but then I can go back to our second home (the Polynesian) and feel like I am living the movie.

I am glad you find my site a good source of info. I know you are careful about where you get your info. I do have some changes to make when I get back. I have heard about the bus system changing and some of the kids activities. Melissa also told me they printed a new Island Palm Press and they changed the names of some of the stores and the boat rental area. I did not want to try to get all the new info from here so I will get it when I get there. I hope to have even more info on the suites.

I think that would be great if Lilo & Stitch were residents at the Polynesian! I hope they don't waste this opportunity for a great tie-in and cross-promotion (film/merchandise/character meals).

Princess Angel, I forgot to say that we're taking our 2 boys (9 & 4) to see Lilo & Stitch tomorrow at the Showcase on Route 15 in Berlin. I don't think it would be more than an hour from Brookfield. Maybe we'll see you there! Have a good time!

Hi, Steve! Just got back last nite (6/21) from the Poly - there was some Lilo and Stitch merchandise in the stores at Poly, but not as much as I expected. The parks are starting to get a lot of stuff, too - especially MGM, for some reason.

By the way, thanks for your wonderful site - it came in so handy while planning our trip to the Poly, and even while we were there. We had a great time, despite torrential rains almost every day we were there! I was just happy that we had such a beautiful resort to hole up in while we waited out the rain!

I have just heard some things but I don't want to report anything till I find out. Nothing major just some name changes and some kids services changed. The only other change is the bus transportation. I will find out in a week.

I want to let you know I saw Lilo & Stitch today! It was the BEST Disney movie to come out in the past 10 years! Absolutely amazing! I had tears in my eyes 3 times! even Jerry cried!
You are goin to love it!
and when I tell you that it makes you want to be at the Polynesian, that is an understatement!
I am booking the Luao on Monday for our November trip! I just have to! (that was the first thing I said after we left the theatre!
I am definitely seeing Lilo & Stitch again!
after the movie, we went into the Disney store, and bought the Lilo & Stitch plush dolls! the ones that are about 16" tall, they are sooooo cute!
I just cant stress enough how phenomenal the movie is!

and.... returning to the Poly after you see the movie, Steve, will make it that much more magical!
I envy you guys!

so, can you find out if a Lilo & Stitch character meal is in the plans for O'Hana's!!!! I would be the first one to make a PS!

We saw Lilo & Stitch last night and I can not wait to be at the Polynesian I think it would be great if they did a character breakfast at 'Ohana's. We don't go to 'Ohana's for breakfast because it's the same old charaters, not that there is anything wrong with that, it would just be nice for a change. My big dilemma now is that we went to go see the Lion King today and I want to go stay at the AKL. The show is incredible and the music really reminds me of the AKL. I love that resort and hope to stay there someday. Boy did I get a Disney fix this weekend

While we were at the Poly last weekend I was looking around in the shop that's before the other 2 and saw some cute Lilo & Stitch stuff. They had a Hula Lilo and bobble head Stitch for car dashboards. After seeing the movie Friday morning we went to TDS and I asked the Manager about it and she said that they were probably some of the WDW Limited Merchandise... so if you see it there buy it because you may not find it anywhere else!
Also, the reason we were at the Poly was for a Father's Day dinner for our dad at O'hana... it was a huge hit with everyone *whew* and on the way home (we live 2 hours south of Disney) I'd already made plans to return in July for a Surprise Birthday dinner for my sister. She has been in love with Stitch since we saw the preview for it at Return to Neverland! So now that we've all experienced how amazing the movie is, I know she's going to love her Birthday dinner at O'hana's. I'm ordering leis for everyone, and looking for some more ideas...
It would be so cool to have Lilo & Stitch additions at the Poly... I wonder what Disney has in the works. We're getting married next year and are hoping that Lilo & Stitch are added to the Character List... now that would be too cute!

Hey Steve - we were at the Poly til after 2pm on June 21st...unless they were planning a late afternoon or evening thing I think we would've seen or heard about any excitement that day. We did do breakfast over at the Grand Floridian very early that morning, but we were mainly at the pool and doing last minute shopping in the Poly shops. Both my kids picked up the adorable Stitch stuffed animals - I've been cuddling them myself since we've been home!
