My DS has taken to putting Bounce sheets into his sneakers to mask the smell that emits from them. We've washed the sneakers, but the smell is already rock solid in them and the bounce is working enough that DS isn't complaining.

He will not be getting another pair of sneakers until Christmas morning. I can't afford to buy him sneakers just because his feet sweat.

Now, don't think I'm just picking on my DS. I inherited a pair of Ugg's from my DD that she outgrew. When I wear them, I can smell feet. How do you get the smell out of Ugg's when you can't wash them? BTW, they didn't stink when I got them, so this is my problem, not my DD's (at the moment). Socks helped her overcome stinky sneakers. ;)

Any suggestions that you can give me for both of our stinking problems is much appreciated.

Dr. Oz says you can soak your feet in tea and get rid of stinky feet. I think you can also put tea bags inside your stinky shoes to get rid of the odor. Google "stinky feet and tea" and you'll find out exactly how to do it. People swear it works great. :thumbsup2

put the shoes in the freezer for two days. I swear the smell will be gone. It freezes and kills whatever little groadies are living in there causing the smell.

DSW and allot of sporting goods stores carry those deodorizing shoe balls. My DS uses them. They work awesome. Just store the balls in the shoes/sneakers/boots when not wearing them. Your footwear will smell fresh every time you go to put them on. Try googling them. They are about $5.00 for a 2 pak!

deodorant.

no no, I'm serious!
i know the smell is in the shoe, but to prevent this in the future (and in the new shoes!) use deodorant on the soles of your feet
I buy a seperate stick deodorant & keep it in my sock drawer - a swipe on the sole of each foot & you are good to go!

go talk to a foot doctor. Hubby had repeated ingrown toenails. When he went to the podiatrist, he gave her all his ailments. He used to have some really nasty, smelly feet. We were putting powders and everything in his socks & shoes to get rid of the smell. She said his feet were too dry. Gave him a prescription (something with lactic in it?) this was over three years ago. I no longer deal with smelly feet from hubby, even in the winter with boots.

Also try old socks filled with cat litter and put them in to absorb the smell.

DH's work boots are stinky too, he uses Dr. Scholl's shoe powder. One squirt of the powder in each boot in the morning keeps them stink free all day.

We've been using the Sneaker Balls that another poster mentioned and they've helped. You can get them at Dick's Sporting Goods for 4.99.

I'll have to try the tea thing and freezer.

Thanks OP for starting this thread. My son has the foulest smelling feet/shoes this side of the Mississippi. The boy could clear a room when he takes his shoes off!!! :rotfl:

My dad's feet used to clear the room when he took his shoes off. But several months ago, he started soaking his feet in Listerine every night. My uncle told him about how Listerine soak cured his fungal nail problem so my dad decided to give it a try. Now, not only his nails are starting to grown in fungus free, but his really bad stinky feet problem seems to have gone away as well. Only side effect is that his feet have a greenish tint to them.
