I am intrested in Stingray city/Blue Lagoon tour in Nassau. Has any one done this tour? and is it worth it. I have 3 children 6,7 and 10, all love the water and are not afraid of animals. If not what do you suggest.

We did the Stingray City tour through Captain Marvin's and it was the highlight of our day in Grand Cayman. We booked a private charter, but I know several others who booked the regular tour and had a great time.

Even though your kids are not afraid of animals be prepared for them to be a little bit "freaked out" when those stingrays come along. Once they get used to them they will be fine, but the first exposure can be a bit unnerving. My DD11 started out clinging to my back (and I mean *clinging*...I had the nail marks to prove it!) but after a few mintues she was holding, petting and feeding the rays.

IMO, Stingray City is definitely a do-not-miss excursion.

Sorry...I see now that you will be in Nassau, not Grand Cayman. I would expect that the experience would be similar there, however my glowing review of Captain Marvin's will not help you in the least! ;)

I'm sure you'll get lots of other replies.

Have fun planning.

I just returned from a recent cruise on the Wonder. We did Stingray city and it was worth it. One word of warning though, you have to tread water. I would say it's about ten feet deep, at least, where you swim with the stingrays. I found the deep water a bit intimidating since I'm not a good swimmer. It was a bit overwhelming at first. After a while I got used to it and thoroughly enjoyed the excursion.

We did the Stingray Encounter/Blue Lagoon during the Nassau visit. My kids were 5 and 8, both boys. We had a blast and you get to feed the stingrays, too! Yes the water is deep but you can blow up your vest and float. I recommend it!
