Stingray City - Resevations Required?

I'm wondering if reservations are necessary for Stingray City? I know you can make them, but I'm also wondering if we could just pick up a tour as we walk off the pier. We are doing an excursion the day before and the day after, so we sort of want to play-it-by-ear in GC.

If you can do a walk-up, are the rates the same? I have been looking mostly at Captain Marvin, but I'm open to other (reputable) vendors as well.

The issue is one of them having enough vehicles and equipment available. If their vans and ships are not full, I'm sure they'd love a walk-up. However, don't count on it being available.

They plan for the guests they have booked.
