Sting rays in snorkel lagoon

So was I just lucky to see two (or one twice) or is it common to see sting rays in the snorkeling lagoon? I got a great photo.

Others said they saw a barracuda. Anyone seen that?

I have never seen a ray in the snorkel lagoon in 16 cruises but I do hear they come in sometimes. I have also never seen Barry the barracuda but many report seeing him. There is a shark net that surrounds the family beach so not sure how they get in unless they escape from the excursion area....but there is no net at the adult beach so there are many more sightings of marine life at Serenity Bay.

We did the stingray excursion at CC and loved it!!!

We watched the sting ray experience and it looked cool. There is a sting ray exhibit that comes to our zoo, where you can touch the rays, so we didn't do it.

Weird, I only snorkeled twice-- Once on Monday and once on Wed. and I saw that ray (or saw a ray) both times, but never heard anyone else on the beach mentioning seeing it! It was close in, too, near that plaque.

Hubby has seen Barry (and quite possibly his relatives) many times in the snorkel lagoon and at the adult beach. Barry seems to like the shiny face on his wristwatch!

I've seen stingrays both at the adult beach and swimming around on the far end of the family beach. We've done the swim experience too and really enjoyed it.

My best sighting was a nurse shark at the adult beach (supposedly there were two but I only saw one), and second best was a little squid. He was inking at everyone, presumably to scare us away, but all it did was draw more spectators!

We saw both right near the beach at the far end of the family beach. Practically swam up to the edge and then paralleled the beach. Very cool!
