I'm wondering if the party lines on the DIS are following the party lines in Congress.

No option for me. I usually vote Republican and the are things in the plan I support a lot and things in the plan I oppose a lot. I do not oppose the very idea of a stimulus plan though.

To me, this new stimulus package is throwing good money after bad, especially since I've heard that Obama will be asking for another 1 Trillion dollars for another stimulus package.

I'm a Republican who is considering becoming an Independent. I oppose the stimulus.

As I mentioned in an earlier thread, you can't get out of a hole by digging it deeper.

No matter how you look at it, stimulus money is essentially taxpayer money. Sure, it's a feel-good ploy to kick some back to the taxpayers, but the billions being given to banks, auto makers, and other large corporations is a total waste. They are all independent businesses and should either fix their own problems or go out of business.

That stimulus money should be used to create productive jobs for people willing to work for what they get. Think about how many Border Patrol and Immigration Dept. Jobs that money could create. I'm sure there would be plenty left over to open hundreds, maybe thousands, of free health clinics and still fund a lot of other health care programs. Instead, I fear it will simply go to pay more huge bonuses to the people who created this mess.

Our country has less than 20 years left before it collapses altogether, so we might as well try to right the ship. By the time all of the baby boomers have retired, America will have become Amerika, and we will have been taxed beyond any hope for future prosperity. These loans, along with the current debt and the expense of supporting that generation in ther retirement, will see it done.
