Well, I´m still working on our budget :rolleyes1

How much are buffets in Orlando, such as the Golden Corral (can´t remember names of the other ones)?

How much is an average dinner at a family style restaurant (such as TGI Friday´s etc.) for 2 adults and 4 kids, if the 2 oldest split an adult meal and the 2 youngest eat from the kids menu?

We're a family of 5 and always seem to average around $45 with tip for dinner at Fridays, Applebees, Chilis, etc.. Sometimes the kids order off the kids menu and sometimes they don't. We usually never get dessert..too much food for us at one time.

Not sure about the buffet prices. I think maybe around $9.95 -12.95 each? Others would probably know better.

Have a great trip!

A buffet like Shoneys or Golden Corral run around 8-9on 192 in Lake Buena Vista its 10-11 they jack up prices near Disney Property. With the size of you family give room for atleast 10 bucks a person for food at a place like Applebee. I would say 65 buck budget for any given restaraunt depending on your kids it could go up or down most likely that is over budgeted which might not be bad.

Don't forget to look for the little coupon books at the offsite plaza's and hotels too. They won't save you a ton, but you will save alittle bit.

Also, another option is to view the entertainment book online for the Orlando area and see if it would be worth buying for you.

As for the buffet prices, I've never actually figured it out. I just went w/ a per day budgeted amount for food for my family. If we were having a more expensive dinner, then breakfast would be in the room (muffins, fruit, yogurt, ect), and lunch might be really light. Also, on some days we might do like Taco Bell for dinner and have a pizza for lunch because then the whole budget would only be $30-40 for the day- and I could use left over money for another day. I just found it to work easier than if I try to budget each meal. So, for my family of 3 (ds is a teen boy who can eat- ironically dh is a super light eater w/ a smaller appetite than my toddler nephew) we try to budget $75/day for food if we're staying offsite. (of course some meals are in the parks). If we are staying onsite I go $125/day because we tend to not want to leave the parks/hotels to eat then.

It is not - only about 3 restuarants are even close to WDW - the others are in DD orlando - about 10 to 20 miles away. that is too far for me to go to eat.

for adults I would budget around $35 per day for offsite
for onsite (WDW) then $50 per day.

for kids - $20 per day offsite
kids onsite - $35 per day

some places are cheaper than others. I didn't like the Golden Coral on the US 192 - but LOVED the one on 535 (close to the Marriott village).

there is also a much place to eat - Ponderasus - it is around $3.99 for breakfast, $5.99 for lunch, $7.99 for dinner - you can generally find a 10%. now the food isn't the best - not even close - but it is not horrible either.

I will NEVER eat at Denny's on US 192 again - I paid $50 for junk. It wasn't always this way - it use to be really great.
