is it possible to reserve ELP seats, and is it a good idea in the peak periods? thanks for your help!

It is possible to reserve seats. You would be seated at the Wine country tratoria (or what ever that is called!). It includes a glass of wine and a plate of fruit, cheese, crackers. Children get a peanut butter sandwich. I have not done it, so I can't give a great amount of deatails. Its $59 per adult, $49 for children.

We have never had a problem getting great seats for ELP. But, we dont go during peak times. I would think with an hour or less waiting you could probably find good seats.

Does anyone know how good of a view that it is from the restaurant?

Actually, I don't think the preferred seating is at the resturant itself (though if you make dinner reservations for around the parade time and ask to sit outside, I'm sure you can see it)? I called and asked about ELP preferred seating and they said it was in the Wine Plaza Area? Not really sure, I could be wrong, but I seem to remember a little alcove or Nook area where guests were sitting once. You can call Disney dining and ask for sure- 714-781-3463.

I am actually considering getting them also, just because it will be July and crowded, and it is my birthday trip, so I am splurging on everything..hehehe

Just went ahead and booked - they had seats for next wednesday evening, but I didn't ask where they were located...perhaps someone knows? It's not clear which part of the golden Vine winery they use for this.

Here is a cut and paste from what vacation planning sent me in 2005. Note the price has changed.

Disney’s Electrical Parade: ($56 for ages 10 and up, $46 for ages 3-9, 25 seats available)

View this classic Disney favorite from the picturesque patio of the Golden Vine Winery in Disney’s California Adventure. Adults can enjoy a glass of wine or non-alcoholic beverage accompanied by a platter of meats, cheeses and bread. Children are served milk, juice, or soda, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and Mickey –shaped corn chips.

· Tickets can be purchased through Vacation Planning by calling (714) 300-7526, option 2 up to 30 days in advance. Credit cards only are accepted by phone.

· Tickets obtained through Vacation Planning can be picked up with Guest’s itinerary
(when staying at one of the Disneyland Resort Hotels).

· Guests should check in one hour prior to show time. Seating will begin 30 minutes before the show starts. Tickets are subject to availability and non-refundable!

Facing the winery, the seating area is on your right, next to a fence. This area is elevated above the pathway, so the view is excellent. The area is roped off so that diners or others cannot wander into the area for the view or a seat. Even so, viewers will stand on the stairs and try to sit on at least a part of the fence, partially blocking your view unless you stand. We did this once and thought it was a nice experience.
