I received info via mail months ago. Everything makes sense and I have no questions about that. DW and I just returned from WDW and we took a tour of Saratoga Springs. Honestly, it didn't wow me, but I thought it was nice. Is there anything else I can consider to help me make this decision?

Howdy fellow New Hampshirite!

We bought into DVC last year because we love to vacation there. We know in the long run we will save money on accomandations and have a great place to stay. We also like the idea that our kids can use it with their families too (when that happens).

SSR is nice but you will be able to stay at the other resorts too. So far we've been able to stay at the Boardwalk and are staying at the Beach Club this February.

One thing that's nice too is to me different resorts provide different tourings. So if you want hustle and bustle near things, the Boardwalk is nice. Want to hang out and relax, then SSR and OKW are good choices.

In my opinion if you know you are going to vacation there for years to come than it's a good decision. Don't forget there's Hilton Head and Vero Beach too!

Also, with the incentive going on it's a good time to buy in as well. If you need more info about that, PM me.

Consider looking at the other resorts via resale or get on the waiting list with Disney. For us we thought the same.....but the BWV and BCV really did it for us. It is a good deal if you frequent WDW.......

OK, I may not be from the "granite" state, but I can be in Nashua in 45 minutes, and my daughter goes to UNH, so that makes me "part" granite stater !!

If SSR did not grap you, then you can always buyin to one of the other DVC resorts or wait until AKV comes on line. SSR did not make me "tingle" either so I bought VWL. That is one of the nice things about DVC is that you are not locked into one resort...you have 5 (soon to be 6) on property and 2 off property.

Go Cats !!!!

Probably after the current promotion ends (Jan 20th) they will probably release some AKV info (hopefully). That might help you decide. Do you like AKL?

My son attends UNH. He's a sophmore.

Another "sort of" granite stater here...live in Maine, work in NH.

As others have said, you CAN buy other properties. DVC is selling SSR right now and is likely fee3ling the pressure to sell it out since AKV will be opening for sales shortly. However, you can buy any of the "sold out" resorts through Disney or via resale (The TimeShare Store is the place to go...click the top of this page)...just ask your guide, as he/she may not offer this information (about buying a sold-out resort diretly from Disney).

Of course, you can wait for AKV to come on the market, but I guarantee it will be more expensive than $86 per point.

Keep coming to these boards and asking questions...it is the best way to make a decision such as this.

As long as you wouldn't be disappointed to stay at SSR if unable to book another resort, this might be the best option for you. I wouldn't advise buying there if you never want to stay there, though.

It really comes down to "How often do you want to go to WDW?"

If the answer is every year (or more frequently) then just ask where do you want to stay when you go? If the answer is on Disney Property, then compare SSR to the moderate resorts (Port Orleans, etc). My guess (since I cannot predict the future) is that the costs are about the same with a 150 pt contract.

I second the previous post. In my opinion it all comes down to this:

1) Do you plan to go to WDW at least every other year?

2) Do you plan on staying on property in moderate or deluxe hotels when you go?

If your answer is YESto both of these questions, then the DVC decision is easy. It is definately a great choice.

If your anwered NO to one of these questions, then it is possible that you MIGHT be making an impulsive/emotional decision and you don't really need/can't use DVC enough to make it worth it.

If you answered NO to both of these, then I would say that NO, you should not spend your money on a DVC membership.

Look at buying points at one of the other resorts via resale. We have purchased a resale from The Timeshare Store, which sponsors this forum, and had a terrific experience.

Or, bug Disney to sell you what you want. They do have other resort points available. They don't like to make that public, because they "push" to sell the new resort, but if you speak to someone and say "I would like to buy points from Disney at Beach Club Villas, but I will go to a resaler to get them if you can't help me"...they'll sell you the points.

Now, that being said...you won't get any incentives etc. that they are offering because the incentives are usually for the newest property being offered...in this case SSR.

Good luck.

SSR is $86.00 a point with the promotion going on right now and the other resorts ( the sold out resorts ) are sold at $95.00 so you'll pay $9.00 more a point to not own at SSR. You will also lose out on the extra 12 years you would get buying at SSR.

This year I bought BWV direct from Disney.

Good Luck !

When's the last time you bought something from Disney and didn't get what you paid for?
