Still trying to salvage our trip..

Talked to my DD and we're not quite ready to throw the towel in on this trip yet..

How about April 21st to 29th - OR - April 27th to May 5th or 6th?

What could I expect in terms of crowds, weather, rain?

I really, really, REALLY don't want to have to take that "hit" on the airline tickets I already purchased...

Carol: I must have missed some more trouble--last I knew you were planning an early January trip. We will be camping at FW from the 18 to the 24 on a surprise camping trip for DS and his friend. While it's after Easter I expect it to be a little busy because most of New England has April Vacation then. (That's why we can go--DH teaches H.S.) In past Aprils we have enjoyed weather in the 70 and 80's. I just remember one shower while we were in Lion King at AK (still have the ponchos!)

Thanks! That sounds encouraging!! When we were there in Sept. 2001 the heat and humidity was HORRIBLY and it was ALWAYS raining..

I'd even be willing to put up with crowds if it meant decent weather!!

Now - if we can just avoid any MORE problems.. GRRRRRRRR...

April 27 - May 5 is a GREAT time to go! We've done that a few times and always enjoyed it. The crowds have usually died down from the Spring Break rush, and the weather is warm but not sweltering. I say go for it!

We went the last week in April/ first of May this year. It was wonderful. The weather was great- mid 80's. It rained just one afternoon, but only for a short time. The crowds were not bad at all. We used fast past and didn't wait more then about 15 minutes for any ride. The only day that I remember it being crowded was our first Sunday at AK. This is one of my favorite times to go. I think you would have a wonderful time.

I like late April/ early May between your two choices. I think crowds are more of a difficulty than rain, and I think you'll be there post spring break/pre-summer vacations(is anyone out of school by May 5?)
