Still trying to pick a resort for this summer

I have never been to Disney but have been researching a lot the last two weeks and wondering if you have checked out YC or BC. The pool there is supposed to be fabulous and even has a sandy bottom.

I've read here that Stormalong Bay is like a mini waterpark. Hmmm that might be a great option :thumbsup2

YC/BC is at the top of the list. But, I don't know anything about the pool bar there. Anyone?

Poly also seems nice but am a little concerned about the lack of a hot tub. What is the pool bar like at the Poly?

I also want to add, we would like to have easy access to food for lunch near the pool. We didn't like how CSR food court was very far from the pool.
So, add any advice about pool bars and pool food. I need to book ASAP or I will run out of choices.
We are considering AKL again but really think we would like to try something new.

YC/BC have a poolside food area and bar, right by the pool.Hurricane Hannahs...actually I have heard it is pretty decent:goodvibes

Hurricane Hannahs is the food/bar at the YC/BC pool. The pool area is enourmous, so the closeness of HH could vary depending on which part of the pool you are at. You can get a quick bite to eat there or else right at Beaches & Cream which you get to from the pool area (it's located in the walkway between YC and BC). Or else there is Marketplace inside BC for a quick bite to eat.

To me, staying at YC/BC is a very relaxing vacation. We go to the parks in the morning, then back to YC/BC to relax at the pool. Then...our favorite part....we take showers and them simply WALK into the Epcot world showcase for a nice dinner, some rides, and Illuminations. Then just walk back to YC/BC or else stroll around the boardwalk for some fun there. It's totally relaxing and has a very beautiful and tranquil atmosphere.

The pool area at Wilderness Lodge is great. There are slides, hot tubs, the "old faithful" geiser goes off periodically. And I am fairly certain that there is a bar/refreshment area.

We had a great time at the pool at Coronado Springs. The slide was fun and the pool bar was a great time, too.

Is there anywhere to sit around the bar at the YC or Poly or is it just up at the bar itself? AKL has a nice little area to sit around the bar but not actually right up at the bar.

Also, does the sand pool at YC bother anyone? I like the beach but I also get a little tired of having sand all over my things, so we often stay at the pool to avoid all of the sand.

If you are looking for the ultimate pool experience Y&BC would be it.:thumbsup2 But you have to get to poolside early to get your pool chairs

:wizard: Our Favorite Pool is the Polynesian Main Pool, Its really nice! You can watch the fireworks of Wishes from the beach/pool

If you want to sit by but not at the bar and enjoy the pool I think POLY, AKL, WL or GF main pool are best for that. You can sit and watch your kids easily at any of those. Not so easy to do at YC/BC. I don't have BW on the list because IMHO its the least interesting deluxe pool area. If you like to avoid sand, AKL is best.

Really, I've found the Universal resort pools are the best for the kind of relaxing afternoons you're looking for but since you said WDW is your home away from home I won't go into those :)
