Still trying to finalize ceremony location -

Hello folks - looking for some feedback...

First, our brunch reception at Terrace de Fleurs is set aside for us.

Second, we can't do France because it is too early, and we have several elderly people...

Third - We want to do Cinderella's coach....

Today, folks at DFTW didn't like doing the ceremony at GF, followed by reception in Epcot - they said that would be a lot of "moving around" first thing in the AM.

They suggested that we move the ceremony to someplace else in Epcot...however, if we do Italy, they said our guests will have to reboard the bus and drive around to England, and then walk from there to France....My response was "HUH??" That is because there may be trucks or other things on the promenade at 930 or 10am...BUT - we could ride the Carriage from Italy to France. How can one be ok but the other isn't? They even said if we did Canada, we could walk to France.

What about Morocco? It looks very pretty in the pictures. Thoughts and opinions?

They didn't like the idea of a GF ceremony followed by an Epcot reception because it was too much "moving around" in the morning?!? Funny story- it's YOUR wedding!! And if that's what you want there's no way I'd let them bully me into something else.

Unless you WANT the ceremony in Epcot! Then it's different. Don't the buses need to be hired for a minimum number of hours anyway? I don't know if I'd love the idea of walking from Italy to France in heels myself... Carrie had her wedding in Morocco, so did LittleKittyMarie-- their weddings were BEAUTIFUL.

I agree with andeesings — people are already going to be moving around early to get to France for that brunch. However, what if you had the ceremony at Sea Breeze Point? You could walk to France *and* have the carriage.

Yeah, it seems like they plan based on all the things that could possibly happen, rather than on what is likely to happen (perhaps as a way to avoid Bridezilla meltdowns). They told us that if we had our ceremony in Morocco, the Around the World at Epcot Segway tour might ride right through it! :rolleyes: Like any Disney tour guide would ever do that! Needless to day, that never happened.

Italy to France is a long walk though, especially if you have elderly guests. Maybe that's another reason they suggested it?

I'm biased because we used Morocco, but I think it's the most striking, distinctive ceremony venue in all of Epcot, except for maybe China. And hardly anybody uses it, so you'll get unique photos!
 
Thank you both for the replies. There is no doubt that they were picking up on our concerns for all the walking of the guests....and they know we really wanted the ceremony in Epcot, specifically France.

After looking at all of Lurkyloo's pics and other pics of Morocco, we decided we really like it. Thanks for posting all of those!

We looked at Sea Breeze Point, but that is at 10, and then we wouldn't get pics in France before it started getting people since the walk from the bus drop off to Sea Breeze and then back, and then the bus etc would get us into Epcot past 11:00

So Morocco at 9 followed by France brunch at 10 with the carriage. Now we are waiting to see if they will allow Mickey and Minnie at the reception at 10AM before World Showcase officially opens.

All the rules and the days in between waiting for answers....

We used the UK Rose Garden for our ceremony and it was lovely. It's also out of the way so less chance of strangers getting involved. We then bused everyone to our reception at American Adventure Parlor.
