So here is our problem with Disney:

We are leaving to travel to Florida on May 2nd and we live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We are planning on going for 2 weeks. We can get the Magic Your Way 7day Water Park Fun & More Passes from the Disney Store but there are no tickets to buy anywhere in Canada since March and they don't know when they will be getting some more. They did have children's tickets, but are sold out of adult tickets. My sister-in-law has called and emailed the Disney Store in Canada and they told her to call Disney in Florida. After being passed around to a few different people and emailing a few times all they could say was this:

Thank you for both your email and voice mail messages. I will try to give you a call shortly. Unfortunately the WDW passes have sold out rather quickly in Canada and Walt Disney World is aware of the situation. The passes are normally shipped from them to the stores, once a month. With Spring Break and the end of some schools, guest attendance has exceeded the quantity of passes to be sold. We do not have any information regarding Pass replenishment at this time.

Please feel free to call Walt Disney World direct at 407-824-4321 for additional information as well as checking at your local stores.

We do apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused.
:sad2:

That email was sent on April 17th and nobody has called her, as far as I am aware of.

We are now looking at buying tickets somewhere else and it is going to cost us more money. We are all appalled at the treatment we are getting from Disney and we thought Disney would treat us a bit better than this. This is not a way to start off a huge family vacation to Disney for the first time for most of us. We want Disney to take some responsibility.

 :sad2:

I read a post in the last couple days that said a certain store had LOTS of passes. I think it said Scarborough...hopefully the OP will see you post and guide you to them.

We got our tickets from CAA with a slight discount.

On the DL boards there was a link to an online store in Canada to get park tickets...prices were rather good iirc. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of website, I'll see if I can find it and link you to it.

I just phoned all the stores in our vicinity including the scarborough and all they have is the base ticket with the park hopper option, which we don't want. :sad2:

thanks everybody for your help! :)

I bought my tickets directly from the Disney Parks official website and they Fed Ex them to me. You just use a credit card to pay. They have an option to deliver next day I think. I did the regular delivery and it took less than a week. Hope this helps.

For the small percentage you save by buying them ahead of time- we always just buy our tickets when we check into our hotel. They put them on our KTTW card and it's all done. Easy as pie.

OP - what ticket type are you actually seeking??

Disney Store in Scarb was supposed to have plenty of MYW with Park Hoppers available as of this week (check the Canadian section on this site). If it's a case of wanting the Park Hopper & Water Parks/More option, then perhaps take what the local Disney Store has in stock and just pay for the upgrades or extra days you need when you arrive.

In terms of CAA, I find the website useless. Call your local CAA office for the Canadian pricing :thumbsup2

You may also want to consider looking into the UnderCoverTourist for tickets. While the pricing is in US funds, it is cheaper than Disney. They pretty much sell all ticket types, and if you use the link from a MouseSavers newsletter, there are usually promos.

Good Luck :wizard:

All we are looking for is the MYW 7day water parkpark fun and more pass. 6 adults. disney store in Canda is the cheapest.

Disney is advertising that they have the tickets for sale at the price of 296.07canadian each ticket and that is what we want. I don't understand the problem? Why can't they replenish their tickets and why do they not know if they will be selling anymore at that price? Is it because they were selling them too cheap and they want people to pay the american pricing because it is so much more? That's not right. We want Disney to take responsibility for their actions.

Wow, just found 'em on flightcentre, and I can see why you want that disney store price! Crazy-low price!

As anyone who tried to figure out if the stores were going to be selling Disney Dollars again can tell you, it seems the stores are given NO information, and don't know what they are getting until they get it. Just seems to be the way they work.

I wonder, if you bought the MYW with hoppers, and went to the parks, if they would swap the hopping option for the waterparks option? Aren't they the same cost? Might be worth checking out the ticket info "sticky" thread by Cheshire_Figment on the Theme Parks forum, to see if that sort of "sideways" move is allowed.

I agree with bumbershoot - you should look into a possible switch from the PH to the Water Parks angle. It might very well be possible... look at the sticky for more info.

In addition, while I can understand your frustration with the ticket availability at the Disney Stores here in Canada... You need to look at the fine print on the display board. Essentially, Disney does not guarantee any ticket availability and can revoke or change pricing at any time. In light of the exchange rate, MANY people have been snapping up tickets - add the fact it was just March/Spring Break (which differs from week to week, depending on school boards), so sell outs happen.

Having been at a Disney Store by fluke when a ticket envelope arrived by courier - I can tell you employees get very excited, since it's a rather random process. Basically, they have NO clue when or what is going to arrive - Disney Magic :wizard:

Which is not the way to run a multi-billion dollar store. Everything should be communicated, especially ticket sales. The customer should always come first whether they are spending 10 dollars or 10 thousand dollars. When tickets are ordered the stores should be told right away when to expect them. Word of mouth is the best form of advertising. If people are bad mouthing a company/store alot of people are going to follow and not shop there .

But anyways, we have the issue resolved. I had to call head office in Toronto and spoke to a wonderful lady and she resolved the issue for us within 25 minutes and we can now go and pick up our tickets at the canadian price of 296.08 Canadian each. If she could find us tickets, what was wrong with Disney in Florida?

Thanks everybody for your ears. We are now looking forward to our grand family trip on May 2nd. :cool1: :rotfl: :woohoo: :cheer2:

I understand that you are upset but I feel as though you are not being realistic. I agree with the pp that said Disney does not guarantee or promise those tickets to you at that price. If they are out they're out. Yes it sucks but what else can you do? I am glad that things worked out for you. And I hope you enjoy your vacation. :goodvibes

What is the shabby treatment that you are appalled with? The Disney Stores were out of stock of the tickets you wanted. There is no guarantee that they will have any specific product in at any particular time. Disney apologized for the inconvenience this has caused and gave a solid reason for the high demand in tickets.

Why the sense of entitlement?

Deleting my post. This is the type of family that I try to avoid in Disney. Ugh. Nice attitude.

I guess I don't really understand the problem. It is a common business practice for companies to offer a certain percentage of their stock at a lower price to stir interest. Airlines do it all the time as do hotels, rental car companies, etc. It is great when you are able to get the low price, and it stinks when you can't. I don't think it means that the company is doing anything wrong or doing a poor job of running their business. It is just a common business tactic used.

Regardless, I'm glad you were able to get it resolved to your satisfaction.

If it were only a case of such a practice -- but this sense of entitlement the OP has shown is in response to The Disney Store in Canada running out of tickets and not knowing exactly when the next shipment of similarly priced tickets will arrive.

From what I can surmise, the OP is mad at Disney operations in Florida not knowing the exact location of each and every adult ticket in their Canadian stores and is holding this up as a sign of ineptitude on their part -- "proving" her point when a Canadian Disney Store employee is able to locate such tickets, as if to suggest "Why can a local employee find the tickets when an employee thousands of kilometres away has no idea where they are in the system?"

I thoroughly agree with another poster to this thread who suggested that this is the kind of person to stay away from at Disney.
