Still no Merry Mixer news?

Aw, shucks. Not on December 2? I'll be there from Dec. 2-9, and was really looking forward to it. Darn.

We're there Nov 27th to Dec 5th so I'll guess we'll miss it too. We went last year and it was nice. We're not into the pens or stuff like that so we didn't stay too long.

I don't know much about this event as this will be our first visit in Dec as DVC members. Anyone care to share what it is all about?

last year was our first merry mixer they have a dj, a meet and greet with charecters , they give you light refrehments like a mickey rice krispy treat and apple cider , they have a bar if you want heavy drink lol . dee vee cee was there with her 2 kids that was fun they had 3 tables for the kids with little craft projects , pin trading as well as you can buy the special pins they offer . as well as they gave a special ornement last year. if i missed anything someone will correct me .

this will bum me out if they drop the ball and it is not there for the 2nd i leave the 5th

Since most of the members can't attend this, it would be nice if they sent an ornament to the membership instead of holding this event. Or scale it back to be nothing more than a sales presentation with a holiday flair.

I will be very disappointed if they don't have a mixer before the 10th! :sad1: This is the first year that we'll be there at all in Dec. and I was really looking forward to it.

Spoke with a CM yesterday who, after putting me on hold, stated that the Merry Mixer would be held on December 10, 16 and 23 at the Contemporary Convention Center. This may change between now and December 10 though.

Well, I called it. We arrive, the morning of the 17th and depart on the afternoon of the 23rd. This is the 3rd time, this has happened to us. I'm disappointed, but not surprised.

:sad2: We will miss it too if those are the dates. We will be there 11/30-12/10. Typical and just our luck.

I'm there from the 8th through the 13th and am anxious to attend my first Merry Mixer. Hopefully they do have one on the 10th.

Hopefully for the other posters they have one earlier as well.

Does anybody remember what time the Merry Mixer is? We have reservations for CP for the 10th.
Also saw on DVC website that they will not be having Welcome Home Wed. on the 8th. Do they cancel that because of the Merry Mixer? Looks like we maybe missing both this year.

December 10th is a Friday and the other days are Thursdays. I am surprised they are not all held the same day of the week.

Unfortunately for us the night we will be there is the night I scheduled our Candlelight Processional dinner. If they still had it outside of Epcot we probably could have made it. I dont think there is any chance of re-scheduling the Processional for another day.

We'll be there from the 9th- 17th. I'm glad it's at the convention center. Last year there was a light rain and we all stood in it waiting to get under the tent. Then once inside it was impossible to get around and enjoy anything. Hoping for more space and a few more photo stations.---Kathy

Go figure. We attended each year for the last several years always the first week of December. We will be leaving on the 10th and will miss it. I always thought they had the Merry mixer from late November to the end of December. They cut it down to 3 weeks, I'm disappointed.

That may have more to do with the annual DVC member meeting which I think is that week than the Merry Mixer but maybe a combination of both. I think the meeting is the 9th which would be the Thursday and would explain why the merry mixer is the Friday that week and then Thursday the following two. No matter what since I arrive on a Sun 11/28 and leave on Thurs am it looks like we are out of luck this year.

The one year we went they had characters doing line dancing with whoever wanted to join in as well as the refreshments, some pin, merchandise sales and that was about it. It sounds like they have increased what is going on since then but I am with Deb and Bill on this one - wish they would just send everyone the ornament and forget the party since it is really limited to not that many members.

Weird! That would put us out of the running completely, since we leave for home on the 8th.

Darn, darn, darn! I miss BOTH the Merry Mixer AND Welcome Home Wednesday my first trip home????

A lot of events are being scaled back. We missed the Flower & Garden Festival, it was cut short, and Food & Wine because it started a week later, than normal. It's really tough to plan, 11 months out with all the changes.
