Still no luck at a room with AP rate for December 4-6th!!

A bit frustrated on getting a last-minute AP rate...I've been calling and nothing...only suites available! I do have a great rate at a nice hotel offsite, but I would just really love to surprise DH with a stay onsite for our first-ever Christmas trip. *sigh* Any tips for a frustrated AP holder?

Keep trying........I called yesterday for AP rates for 11/28 to 12/2 and they had POR, Poly GV, Poly LV, GF GV, GF LV, WL std, YC GV, YC LV and Cont GV. I could not believe the choices. We were 6 days out...........

I just got the whole week at POP for Dec 1-7. I think they noticed I had called 15 times and asked me to hold while they checked with guest services. She came back and said.. addition, we already had the first room.

I was able to change my rack rate reservation at WL to get the AP discount by splitting my reservation.

We arrive Sat Dec 4th at WL and will switch resorts on Wed Dec 8th to Pop. I was able to get the AP rate for Pop when it first came out but no luck at WL. Then last Thursday when I called to see if by chance any discounts were available the CM said no, the weekends are very busy. A light bulb went off in my head! I asked the CM to check if the rate was available for ANY part of my stay - AND IT WAS - courtyard view at $137 per night for Sun, Mon, and Tues!! The downside is that we have to "check-out" of our Saturday night room because we now have two reservations for WL. The CM suggested upgrading our first night stay from a standard room to a courtyard view room to reduce the chance of having to physically change rooms.

So, we now have the first night at WL courtyard view at rack rate, and the next three nights at the discounted rate. Overall we saved $120 and now have a courtyard view!!

We saved a total of $245 with the AP discount this trip!! Of course Disney is going to end up with that money anyway, but now we get to decide if it is going to be more souvenirs or another nice dining experience, or.....oh the possibilities!!

I think it's Dec. 4th causing all the problem. Try having them check without that date and see what happens.

others sent some my way and I finally got POR (my favourite) 12/3-12/10 this week after lots and lots of calls.

Don't give up! I've even waited until day of arrival and managed to get my AP rate at my chosen resort.....

I have also been trying to book Dec. 4-6. I called last Sunday and was told no availabilty. I called again on Tuesday night and was able to book the Polynesian Garden View at the AP rate. You might get lucky like we did.

Don't rule out the swan or dolphin but don't use CRO. The S/D has lots of convention business so December is a bit slower for them than the WDW resorts. My sil got a room for $129.00 per night from the 3rd to the 9th. We got an AP rate for a lake view balcony room for $189 from the 26th to the 31st so its worth a try. AP's get a discount and an automatic 1 category upgrade with a late check out. Its a walk away from Epcot and MGM and has all the benefits of the WDW resorts except charging and mickey soap.
