Yup we'll be there 10/10 . . .I have to say this will be the 1st time I had to use my AAA card for a discount . . .

Well, here's hoping for something to come out for our April trip.

Yep - we planned a last minute trip Oct. 18-23 and cannot change dates. At this point I'm hoping that some people might change their dates to get the discount and maybe some moderate rooms might open up.

Count me in! First time to purchase ap and I have been checking for discounts for my room everyday since May... Call back there should be something mid July... first of august... end of August...Early September...my dates keep falling deeper and deeper in the black hole October 12th-22 with notta but hey I'll be in Disney

Well, I can't complain too much as I have a great airline employee rate for our room at POR 11/23-11/27. However, I really was hoping to take advantage of some great dining package deal. I know I'm there over the holidays, but I guess I got caught up in the excitement of speculation, and I'm let down that I don't have anything to celebrate! Heck, I need to snap out of it...I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

10/21-10/27 If only I had known 10/23 would be the cut-off *before* I bought the plane tix...
It seems like some people have found CMs would could get them the discount for the missing days within the package period, or even a few days after the package period, but 10/23 is like a Wall. No luck for us earlier Oct-ers.

Count us in. We are arriving on the 18th. I am hoping that something opened up in ASMo for the 21 so we don't have to switch resorts for our last night. If DH could have got his vaction moved back a week we would have tried to get a new ressie. I am hoping someone pushed theirs back a couple days. I am hoping for pixie dust when I call in the am.

With 18 days to go the hope of someone turning on a light has faded. October has become a very dark month for Disney Travel.

No need to worry about being overweight at the airport. Disney has made sure we will be returning home as light as we left. I actually think will be a little lighter, my wallet will be lighter, thats for sure, lack of "room only discount" has empted that. I may have to cut down to 1 meal a day, I was going to try to loose a few pounds before our trip, guess I'll be loosing them while I'm there.

With all my disappointments on traveling to Disney this time of year. Who can put a price on family. I know this will be a Magical Trip. A little dim, but I know my family will throw me a line get me out of this Dark Hole and brighten up my day and night. After all it's not where you are it's the company you keep.

You can bet I'll be more selective on where I stay next trip.

I too am in the black hole of no codes and am disappointed. I know we aren't garunteed a discount but it still sucks when only a 3 week period is shut out.

Had just gotten AP when they came out with BRP missed
it by 3 days....
then they came out with the new 60 day rule for AP's,
missed that one by 1 day...
and now this.....
Ole well.... guess just my luck for picking the wrong time frame
But I still think Disney should have at least gone
back when they changed the 60 day rule and picked
up back to the first of October...

Joining in on the Black Hole pitty party. I really wouldn't feel so bad if there weren't any discounts out there, but it really erks me that this tiny little window is the only one affected. Still going to have a great time, but definitely won't be doing as much shopping

I just thought of something else for most of us in the black hole week. The ADR policy changed the week most of us were up to make them. I remembered I called 93 days out to ask about the new policy and she told me I could have started a couple days ago. Oh well I don't care I am still going to Disney and taking the kids for the first time. ASMo here we come!

Yep I am in the black hole. I am going with my brother and his 3 kids 10/6-10/11. We can't get any discounts. Even AAA is not available. This is supposed to be a special trip for my niece so we are booked in AKL for $320 a night! Can't really afford it, I was hoping to do a moderate for 2 nights but they are booked also.

I'm sure people have discussed this before, but I have missed it--WHY this small window of discount nothingness? Someone mentioned F&W; is that really such a big deal? And the golf tourney only covers one week tops, right? This seems so strange to me and I'm not sure whether to expect nice light crowds in the parks (especially since some people may change their vacation dates to take advantage of the later discounts) or SUPER heavy ones since obviously Disney is not feeling the need to offer discounts to fill up rooms during those dates!

Hello, other Hole Dwellers!

You know, we DO have a AAA discount for our trip Oct. 14-23 so the new discount wouldn't have made that much difference for us. Now Free Dining would have saved us over $1000, but we aren't going to think about that!
