Still get a pin for $1?

Last time I went to Disney World (last October), you could spend $40 in pins and get a bonus pin for $1. The $1 pin was one of a series of pins that said "ten" in different languages. I can't remember if it was somehow connected to my Disney Rewards Visa. I'm going back this October, and I wanted to see if that was still an option. Does anyone know?

I just received a $1 mystery pin (Ariel) on Wed. for a $40 purchase at Pin Traders in Downtown Disney.

When I was at WDW this month they still had the $1.00 pin promotion going on when spending a specifc amount of money.

Thanks for the info! I'm slightly obsessed with pins, and I'm sure I will buy $40 worth, if only to get the special one for $1.

It is not 40.00 worth of pins..it is 30.00.

The promo has nothing to do with Visa..
It is available..to all.
I go all the time..and right now the pins are all completer pins for the cast lanyard series.

I collected the set of those "ten" pins. It helped that in January, the a pin vending CM asked me if I wanted to purchase some extra ones at $1 a piece. I bought six or seven of them with my purchase.

I haven't come across one that has let me buy more than 1 per purchase. That was very kind of that CM to do that for you!

They allow you to buy one for each 30 bucks that you spend..so if you spend more...you can buy more for 1.00.

No,not all of them.
most have some sort of promo PWP...
but,they are not all the same.
But, and I have done this..if you can show a receipt from any of the stores,
showing that you have spent the required amounts....
another store..that does have the pin promo...will honor the receipt and sell you the 1 buck pin.

Yes, thanks for that info, Debranator! I always run into that problem- one place doesn't always have all of the pins I'm looking for, especially when there are special events at different parks. I wonder which store has the best offer right now!

Just remember,
that not all..cms are knowledgeable about things like this...
so...if you do have a problem with doing this...
just ask to speak to a manager.
most likely you will not...
But,I have noticed..that when presented with something unusual...
a lot of CMS are unaware.

While we were in MK over the weekend at the store in Frontierland, I bought ~$36 in pins and purchased a $1 trader mystery pin. My traveling companion purchased ~$70 in pins and the CM told her she was entitled to two $1 mystery pins if she wished. Of course she bought two.
