Still confused on adding on direct

I am still trying to decide between direct and resale. I am seeing some conflicting things on the perks. If I purchase 100 points resale and then try to add 25 points from DVC, same resort, same UY..will I still get the perks of buying direct such as discounted APs, etc? Or does it have to be two different resorts or two different UYs?...I don't want to mess this up and definitely see some advantages funding wise to purchasing resale. Thanks!

As of right now, yes, to the best of everyone's knowledge of the membership tiering.

Nope.

...but if you structure your purchase to fit the current rules, keep in mind that DVC can change the perks at any time for resale, direct or both.

I spoke with my guide a few weeks ago and he confirmed that I only need a 25 point add on to get the perks. He suggested my same home resort and use year to make things easier. It is technically a new contract regardless but for ease of booking and logistics it makes sense to keep it the same.

It's always been a new contract just not a new master contract.

They haven't restricted DVC usage, only perks and developer provided options. Agree or disagree, this is the timeshare climate. Personally I think they will and need to do more. It's in all our best interest in the long run for the developer to remain viable.
