God help me if I don't finally get this ... made my ressie today for SSR...YAY...leaving 7 points for 2004. Can't bank them until our use year starts (Feb.) and then have till Nov. to do so...fine. Now here's my question....I get the 100%, 50% etc. is of your total points but let's use 100 points as an easy example: Say I bank 50 points during the 100% period just because I know I'm not going to use them. According to the Membership book, they say I can't bank the other 50 points during the 50% period because the total amount of banked points will add up to more than 50%. This makes no sense to me. Is the answer just "You can't because they said so?" I worry about it only if we have to make cancellations and suddenly we're back up to more points than we can bank. I just can't get my head around this. Does someone have an easy explanation?

You have to keep the banking deadlines in mind when you are making long range plans. As the deadlines near, take a look at your plans and the odds that they will really happen. You are correct that with a 100 point contract if you bank 50 during the 100% time period you are also done banking for the year. If you hadn't banked anything during the next period, then you could bank up to 50 points and be done for the year. Once the 25% deadline starts, you could bank 25 points if you hadn't banked anything previously.
