Still can't get Disney PIN for discount

I have read on several boards about a PIN you get in your email from Disney for a discount on your stay. Someone said to start a reservation on disney's site and take the survey and you will get an email with a PIN. I have done that and still no PIN. We are going in June to the Campground and I am trying to get any kind of discount I can get. Can anyone help me?

Sorry.There is simply NO rhyme or reason to who gets pins and who doesn't. Before this year, I had 21 trips to the world and never got a pin.I got my first pin this year and didn't do anything different than previous years.My advice is to sign up for disney email alerts, order the Disney vacation Dvd and hope for pixie dust.

I got a discount PIN by calling and asking if I had one attached to my name. Try that.

Doesn't always work,believe me I tried the last few years...never had any, and some of the phone Cms will tell you they can't look that info up.

I see from your post you are wanting the campground. There are no pins that I have ever seen distributed for campsites, but they do for cabins. Best way to get a pin is to subscribe to everything officially Disney, and hope for the best.

Noone knows the 'magic'formula that is used to get a pin. I just got my first one after years of going to Disney for my upcoming trip. Unfortunately my TA tried to get availability and there was nothing except very expensive rooms.

We are thinking of spending a couple of days at the Contemporary and would like a nice discount if possible. Is the PIN # hidden inside an email or is it pretty obvious when you get the email? Otherwise, I just have to hope for the best.

When I tried to book a trip online in April, it wouldn't take my debit card. I called Disney travel, and we booked it again over the phone and the price was over $100 cheaper than online. Exact same trip. When I mentioned this to the CM, he said that the best thing you can do is register on the website, plan a trip but, don't book it. Do this a couple times a month. Because Disney will monitor this type of activity and sometimes issue you a PIN trying to see what will actually get you to book the trip. I had one because I had been pricing it up periodically prior to that.
He was very helpful and even joked that he'd probably get fired for mentioning it. And told me about that's how the "free dining" promotion got started.
Since then, I've had 2 other PINs sent to me. I don't know if this is just my luck or not though...
You will notice it. You'll get an email sent from Disney that will tell you the promotion and give you a PIN. It's a long set of letters and numbers.

The emails come from Disney Destinations.They will say something like " We have a deal for the XXX family" or " Enjoy special savings" Always open anything emailed from Disney Destinations since sometimes it may not seem like a pincode

Yes! Always open those Disney Destinations LLC emails!! I got, seriously, 6 PINs between this January and February!! Crazy! I've received about three throughout the year since then (including a 40% for my birthday next month that it's KILLING me not to use!!). I've been twice this year, neither time on a PIN. I've only used a PIN once, and that was last December. Really, I've got no theories on the distribution.

I tried everything too and when I complained about it to a travel agent she called Disney and they told her there was a pin attached to my name. I did not believe it so I called for myself and it was true! I never got an email - even in my junk mail folder but there it was in there computer! We ended up booking on rented dvc points instead but it was nice to know!

I got my 1st ever pin a few weeks ago..

Things I did.

I took a trip over NYE then another trip in August. Both this year.

Took the site survey..Post my NYE, Pre my August

When I got home from my August trip they mailed me a postcard asking to go onto a site enter a 15digit number on the postcard and take another longer survey..

I got a pin in Oct, and we have only been on one trip!
Looks like we might be planning another?
