Okay so we leave for WDW in 4 days!!! Yippee! And I still can't decide between using Magical Express or renting a car. Here's our situation:

I have a car reservation from Alamo for $106 but I love the fact that ME is free.

5 of our group is ariving early Wed. afternoon and 2 of us(myself and my daughter) don't arrive until 7:15 that night. The group of 5 has already received their luggage tags and are definately using ME.

The 2 of us that are arriving late have not received tags but have been assured by Disney that we are in the system and they will print our vouchers once we get to the airport in Orlando.

Since there are 7 of us (including a power wheelchair) we would not be using the car to get around Disney property as we would not all fit. It would be used primarily as a tool to get us to and from the airport.

we are staying at OKW...is there any reason we would want a car there?
For those that have used ME...would you use it again? anybody arrive in the evening and if so, when did you get your luggage?

Please help me make this decision!!!

Only rent a car if you intend to use it during your stay. We had a rental car while staying at OKW and never used it onsite.

If you are only renting a car to use for transportation to and from the airport, I wouldn't do it. I would use ME and take the $$ saved and have a nice dinner etc.

I always rent a car, but I also frequently go off property and that makes the rental practicle.

We used ME without tags. When we landed we went and claimed our bags and then went to the ME desk. We were in the system, they printed out our voucher, and showed us what line to get in. We were off the plane and on the ME in about 20 minutes :) It was very easy and we would use it again, even if it wasnt free. Oh and our flight landed at 3:45 and we were checked in, unpacked and eating dinner ay 6:00 :)

You said you would be renting the car strictly for the airport run. You don't plan to do any off-site shopping, or go off-site to eat, right???

If that is the case, I'd add that $106 to my souvie budget!!!!! Free (especially from Disney!) is GREAT!!! Use ME, and review it when you get back for the rest of us.

Since you are staying at OKW, are you planning on a grocery stop? Obviously, you can't do that with ME (but there are delivery services you can use for a price). The cost of the car may be a benefit if you eat meals in your room. If you have 7 people eating breakfast in the restaurants as opposed to eating in your own room, it will cost you alot.

We usually rent a car and that's one of the reasons. We take a quick trip to Publix, pickup breakfast foods, snacks, soda, juice, bottled water etc. It winds up saving us some money. (Ie. 24 pk of water is about $5.00, but a bottle in Disney is $2.50)

Just something to consider. :)

Thanks for all your suggestions! I think we will try ME and save the $100. I thought about needing a grocery stop but we are on the dining plan so we think we will have plenty of food...49 counter service meals, 49 table service meals, and 49 snacks should hold us pretty well :) Also, none of the kids are big breakfast eaters (I'm lucky if I can get mine to eat a granola bar) so I think I will just bring some things in my suitcase. Thanks again for everyone's advice...3 days till WDW!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

I say use ME and just pick up your own bags so you don't have to wait that late at night for thewm to be delivered. Worked great for us a week or so ago :)
