Sticky suggestion

Would it be worthwhile to have a sticky for:

"When should I buy airline tickets?" Yes, I know people don't read the sticky, but at least if it's up at the top when someone posts the question, we can quickly send them to that link.

IMO, this should have the various:
"Buy when you find a price you can afford"
"Some say 3 months out, some say 4 months out"
"At least 21 days out"
"When flights are first announced (or soon thereafter)".
"It depends".

not to mention answering these questions...

• What day of the week do airlines offer the cheapest fares?
• Is it better to purchase at mid-night or later in the day?
• Can I get a refund if the price goes down?

...and maybe a link to the ME thread so that folks who have questions about checked bags can easily find there way there.

Exactly... again, not to prevent people from posting the question (because we know no one ever reads the sticky's ) but as a quick link that we can post in one of those threads.

I don't mean to sound snarky (it is against board guidelines after all) but....if we're going to take the time to provide posters with a guide to that sticky, with a link, why not just answer their questions to begin with. No one reads the stickied posts.....it always amazes me. But human nature being what it is, people like to ask a question themselves, and get a nice personal answer to it.
Surely, none of us here are so busy that we can't take the 60 seconds to answer a question? Too many stickies already. Drives me nutty.

I don't think you're being snarky at all. But the advantage is the poster who asks the question then gets ALL the answers (once someone posts the link to the sticky) instead of waiting a day or two for everyone to post their answers.

I'm sorry goofy, I didn't mean to sound like I know better, I just really wanted to post it as a legitimate suggestion. Although I do understand on the amount of sticky's.
