I'm from Hawaii, too! I've never been able to find anywhere in the Disney resort that makes rice like we're used to eating. There's a ton of places in the little Korean district towards the Knott's Berry Farm area, though. HiI'm from Hawaii, too! Long's sell three packs of microwave rice (assuming your hotel has a microwave.) With a little furikake, they taste really good!

Thought I was the only younger (under 30, or at least I assume you are) Disney freak in Hawaii, guess it is a small world after all...LOL

Totally forgot about the Garden Walk...We have been, but only eaten at the Cheesecake factory. I know we have one back home, but the lines are always so ridiculous. I definitely want to try Fire & Ice on our upcoming Destination-D trip in September. I know they opened a Roy's at the Garden Walk, but just like here it is not very economical if you know what I mean.

For me, I am from the Big Island, so the "chain" restaurants are limited! I have Fire & Ice on my list as well.
When are you planning on visiting in September? We are there the first week!![]()
Typical local, gotta bring da rice cooka

I was just looking for info about rice in the parks and found this thread. My wife is Filipino and would be happy eating rice with every meal. I have in the past gotten her a side of rice from the Lucky Fortune Cookery to go with her turkey leg from Paradise Pier!
I don't understand why more places don't offer at least plain steamed rice inside the parks. You would think with so many international visitors, it would be very successful. Plus, it is cheap and easy to make. Anyone know where I could make that suggestion?
Rice & a turkey leg!!! Sound like a meal to me!!!!The character breakfast at PPH *used to* have a rice cooker, when it was the Lilo and Stitch breakfast. DH and DS loved it!!! (DH is half Korean, DS is a quarter, and they both do love their rice)) It's now a Mickey breakfast, though it still has a surf theme which might translate to Hawaii, and it does still have Stitch...so maybe they still have that rice cooker sitting out at the buffet.![]()
