Sticker shock

Really understand that sticker shock! Just remember that old saying "You get what you pay for" I don't think we'll ever stay offsite again. Currently we take Mears Transport from the airport (That will change in May when Disney provides the transportation) and we never rent a car. We don't like that big city driving. We save on that. We use AAA discounts which now I'll compare to the codes that I've learned about. You only live once. Enjoy it.. Do Disney the Disney way

Oh my this is our first trip, we are still planning and as the time ticks by I keep adding up going, OH MY GOD should we do this? It could be a car, a few computers, LOL But I insist I want to go! Does anyone else feel sticker shock?

I’m just the opposite. Every time I buy anything expensive I think OMG I could have went to Disney. I guess its all what’s important to you. I'm to the point that is someone I know asks me how much something was I'll sometimes say four nights at AKL as a joke.

My first trip was for our family of 6 plus Grandma so 7 all together. It was very carefully budgeted for and I too had sticker shock. We stayed on property at BWV and I thought it would be the one and only time we went, but as you can see, we loved it and now go every year! My only regret is that we didn't purchase the DVC on the very first trip! No matter whether you go this one time, or several, it's definitely worth it. Staying off property is one way to save, and eating meals off property is another. Try eating two of your meals, maybe breakfast and lunch or dinner off property, and splurge for a nice lunch/dinner on property each day. Meals can be very expensive on property, especially for a large family.

I DID the exact same thing the other day!My GF informed me how much her recent plastic surgery cost (Bev. Hills plastic surgeon), and immediately I thought to myself: "Wow...there's a nice Disney Cruise, and a couple weeks in concierge at WDW~!" Your comment made me recall these thoughts, & made me LOL! Thanks for the chuckle...we all probably do this without much thinking.
