I'm undecided as to what to do with this reservation.

I was calling looking for other openings at Epcot, but then I decided that I really wanted to try it. Now I'm second guessing again.

I've read some bad and some good reviews, what is your personal opinion on the restaurant??

If I change it, I'd only do it if there was an opening at Le Cellier, Tutto Italia, or Coral Reef...do you think any of these are a vast improvement?

I studied abroad in France, have a degree in French, and love French food...that's why I automatically wanted to try this restaurant. We're on the DDP so I don't think we'll want to pay OOP for Bistro de Paris, but I'd consider it if it wasn't totally extravagant in price. The Menu Degustation would be an option (there's only 2 of us, me and Dbf)

Keep it or try to change?

We like Chefs it is one of our favorites but I have been wanting to try Tutto Italia. coral Reef I have given it numerous trys & it is jusy ok for us. Ready to get flamed but last time we got a great table 2nd tier at first I was kinda disapointed because we were not right at the tank but boy let me tell you I enden up feeling sorry for the people by the tank. People were letting their kids just push thru & stand right by the tank, one kids sat in an empty chair a this couples table. And we had the snottiest waiter I have ever has at WDW. Food was good.

We are trying it (for lunch) for the 1st time in about 3 weeks. I'm excited to try this one!

I'll let you know what we thought.

Those were your words. The only reason I can see for you not wanting to try it is because you've read some bad reviews. By people you don't even know.

You've never been there so you have no idea what the place is like. And you'll never know if you like it if you never go.

Personally, I like it. My husband, the burger and fries man, can do without it.

If the menu looks good to you try it, if not then move on. We had a great meal here and are going back again in a couple of weeks.

You will see all sorts of reviews on this board, I take them with a grain of salt unless I see 50+ posts about bad, cold food someplace with in a week.

I'm a huge fan of Bistro, not so much of Chef's. However, I don't think it's any better/worse than the other choices you are considering so I'd stick with Chef's.

Chefs de France is significantly better than Coral Reef.

The only thing (and I mean ONLY) Coral Reef has to offer that is amazing is the aquarium, everything else is far from memorable. It also seems all to often the kids are rude (or is it their parents) with running up to the tank and they are behind in sitting people for their ADRs.

This is true about absolutely every single WDW restaurant. If you really want to try it, then try it and decide for yourself. If you like it, then you have found a place to add to your own list of good restaurants. If you don't like it, you are out one meal.

Personally, I do like Chefs do France and go there just about every trip, but don't let my (or anyone else's opinion) make this decision for you.

We went in Sept. I loved it!! The food great and and the serve was marvelous! I think French men treat there women in a special, sweet way. Cause we were served our food and my husband can act like a well......caveman sometimes. We ordered the same thing and the waiter said "scallops" and I raised my hand and my husband did too. Well the waiter tried to place it in front of me first and my husband was like I ordered that. And the waiter had the look like "ya I know but she is getting hers first". The waiter smiled at me and put the plate in front of me. I really felt like a lady in there. Oh and the French accent mmmmmmmmm. Ok I had my flashback!!:rotfl: So if your a lady GO and if it is just you and another lady double GO! :lmao: I told my mom just her and me are going next time! And yes I love my hubby but he can act like a caveman sometimes!!:snooty:

Chefs is one of my top 3 that I recommend (oh, and try the Lobster Bisque, it's to die for!) in Epcot. Le Cellier is good, but it's impossible to get in, so I haven't been in years since I tend to plan my trips only a month or two in advance. Tutto Italia is very good as well, but I think it's on par with Chefs, so if you want to try it, I would stick by it. Coral Reef doesn't come close to comparing. (My last restaurant I usu. recommend is Tepan Edo, Le Cellier I usually don't because it's always so popular!)

Stick with it!

:thumbsup2
We love it it. Never had a bad meal or any rude waitstaff!!!
I say go and try it once...then decide if you like or don't like, and not because of some bad reviews of strangers. Heck, you can find bad reviews on anything along with the opposite of Love it, reviews for the same place. ;)

LCdF has always been our favorite non-Signature, WDW restaurant. It didn't dissapoint last Thurs. As a matter of fact, we thought our meal there was better than our meal at Flying Fish. The only meal we had that was better than Chefs was Hollywood Brown Derby, but it's 2 TS for those on DDP, & it's not in Epcot. ;)

We have a lunch ADR there. What do you suggest from the lunch menu. Also, someone who had worked at EPCOT said they have the best burger and fries. Go figure!

no matter what restaurant you try, you are going to hear from folks that absolutely loved it and folks who thought it was awful. Only you can decide if you like it.

I speak French as well, and we were just there a few nights ago. Great experience. My kids, who are in French school, got a great chance to practice their language skills, the food was excellent, and we even got to see lots of Illuminations! I would wholeheartedly recommend it!

Last year I wanted to change this ressie (due to bad bad bad reviews) but one of the family members in our grand gathering chose this place. IT WAS THE BEST PLACE ALL TRIP. I have been to Disney and had alot of meals over the last 20 years. It was awesome. The only thing someone did not like was the Lobster soup. Otherwise not one plate went back with food on it out of 14 people. I had the filet of beef with scalloped type potatoes. Oh my it was good. I went in exspecting nothing special and found a new favorite place. Go try it. You might be surprised. Listen to Kevin Klose's review on the podcast about it. Ok off my I love chefs soapbox. LOL.

Really?! They didn't like the soup! That's my favorite. If I got married at DW, I would totally find a way to serve that soup at my wedding!

Wow everyone thanks for all the responses! I think I'm just being paranoid about choosing the right ressies...I don't want Dbf to be disappointed with anything I choose.

I will stick with it...the menu looks good, I can practice my French, and Dbf told me we can book a trip for September 09 so I will be sure to try the other restaurants then!

Everyone loves the soup. I didnt try it. My cousins wife just said she didnt care for it. I actually asked the waitress to give me her recommendations and she said for me to get:
App. Bacon and Onion Tart - loved it.
Entree filet of beef and cheesy potatoes loved it
Dess. Choc poufs. Just ok for me but the sorbet was wonderful.
