I was just watching the news and Steven Tyler has come out and said he has Hepatitis C. That he's been on medication for it for a year and that he was very ill.

I hope he's feeling better. I've all ways liked him

Is Hep C something that's curable? :confused3

I've always liked him too..I grew up on early Aerosmith records and became a fan as I got older.

Plus..even though he's like 2X my age, he's quite a hottie! ::yes:: :thumbsup2

No, it's not curable, per say. My DH has/had it. He got it from a blood transfusion back in 1980. He was on medicines for a year 3 years ago, including injecting himself once a week. It was a form of chemotherapy. The way I understand it he is in remission. His blood counts for the virus are next to nothing now. He will aways have the virus in him, hopefully it will always stay in remission.

There is no cure...treatments to keep it in remission I believe.....just as Caropooh has stated.
I love Steven Tyler and was shocked to hear he has known for 3 years...he's amazing.

Didn't the mama in The Judds get it and she had to retire from performing? What a shame. :(

Wasn't someone here going to see him tonight?

Yep me! :cool1: and we did! :banana: :banana: he did awesome! They did do a lot of blues/solo's to cut down on his voice. He said he was wearing monitors, heart, bp and all that. And he said the DR that fixed his throat was there :cool1: He also has Tom come out for 1 song :cool1: Hope they both get better real fast.

The National Geographic was there filming too :cool1:

Hope he feels better and that it does not effect him too much. Hope Tom recovers quickly too. best wishes to them both. :wizard:

Yes she did and I believe she is in remission.

It is not curable. My uncle got it also through a blood transfusion many years ago. He finally lost his battle. :guilty:

Oh wow, I'm sorry to hear that. :guilty: I've always liked Steven Tyler. There's just something sexy about him.

Tyler was on Access Hollywood and said he was in remission. Tom Hamilton is battling throat cancer as well. But they say he is doing good.

I read about it on CNN yesterday. Wow...I was dreading the day that my favourite musicians get sick. Now it's happening... :worried:

Someone very dear to my heart is living and living well with Hep C. It isn't always deadly. Lets hope Steven's goes into remission and he never has another sick day from it. He's always been one of my all time fave musicians.

On TV last night he said he was cured, but I didn't think that was possible with Hep C.
