Steve Irwin Memorial....

I am not sure if any of the above celebrities had any real connection to Steve, maybe they were a few of his favorite actors and they were asked to speak? I dunno.
I've read in the past (even before Steve's death) that Steve was friends with Russell Crowe and Hugh Jackman....but honestly even if they weren't, it makes more sense to have an Aussie celebrity speak..

Actually, I was talking about Kevin Costner, Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake (as to why they were included).

I figured we would see some Aussie celebs. Just pondering why the three I mentioned were included.

Oh sorry, I just took it as a blanket statement. Sorry about that!
Oh...let's add Steve Harvey to the list. I get that he was on his radio show, but still...
Definitely an odd mix of video tributes.

Link to a great video of the memorial for Steve
Thank you for posting this. I didn't get to watch it live. The video stops after the "true blue" song though. Is this happening to anyone else?

Was Steve really good friends with Russell Crowe? I can't imagine the two of them being friends. :confused3

I haven't heard the best things about Russell Crowe. Makes me wonder.

I was so amazed by Bindi what an awesome little girl.
I was, too. I was in the car this morning, and on the radio, 2 DJs were saying how fake and "rehearsed" Bindi seemed :sad2: . The female DJ was even critisizing this little girl- said she is "a trained actor" and that "those could not have possibly been her real thoughts". :furious: :furious: :furious:

I was SO SO angry listening to her!!! What did she want- to see Bindi scream and cry onstage? I wanted to call in and give her a piece of my mind. How insensitive and uncaring.

I agree with other posters- I think we will see Bindi taking over where her Dad left off with animal conservation issues. Good for her!!

:furious: :furious: :furious: wow. That is just crazy and nasty.

I thought Bindi spoke from the heart. There is no way she could have read it in the natural way she did if those weren't her thoughts. Sounds like that DJ has some problems of her own. :furious:

You have to click on the next section.. Pt2, Pt3 etc...

I thought Bindi showed an amazing amount of poise and maturity getting up there. I'm sure Steve would have been so proud of her. Talk about rising to the occasion.

I've read and heard quite a few times that they were "close mates." Just because media doesn't portray him as the all around good guyy doesn't mean that he isn't a good guy. But "bad things" sell in the media...which is why we only hear about that. His tribute alone shows that he is pretty decent.

Yes they were. I saw Crowe on Leno a year or so ago and said they were really close friends.

I've also heard that Steve and Russell were friends. You could tell, really, since Russell was getting choked up during his speech. :(
