Steve Irwin (crocodile hunter) dies..........

I watched the whole interview with BW and I don't remember that. I could have missed it though. This is so sad. I want to watch the Ray Martin one but I don't think I can just yet. The BW one was sad but BW was so distant and didn't seem to respond to Terri very well that I don't think is was as emotional as the Ray Martin one will be. Don't get me wrong. I cried at the BW one but I think I will cry a lot more at the Ray Martin one.

Did Terri say anything about Bob wishing he could get sick so he could go to heaven to be with his Daddy in the Walters Interview?
No (that is heartbreaking). Terri did say Bob seemed to be taking Steve's passing harder than Bindi. She also said he made a comment about fixing Steve's bike so he can "ride it in heaven".

Anyone read this.... esp the bit about going for No.3.. This story was done last month too..

I actually wondered if Terri might already be pregnant and that was before I read this.. but nothing has been said and I really think she would struggle with the pregnancy now that her "rock" has goine. So sad.

Fantastic article!! Thanks for posting it.

what i'm always going to remember is the last time his family saw him..standing on his truck waving goodbye as they take off on the plane. standing on his truck happily waving is such a touching memory for them to have..it is so incredibly bittersweet it made me cry.

Has anyone seen on tvguide channel "The Crocodile Hunter Family Speaks"? It is on Directv channel 224 right now.

I watched the BW interview the other night also, Terri looks very worn out. I felt really bad when she said she lost her "Prince." My heart aches for her.

Our Cub Scouts made cards to send to Terri and family at the Australia Zoo at their pack meeting last night. I made a poster with Pictures and a poem on it for the meeting. (Ode to the Crocodile Hunter) We had one little boy (8) who stood in front of the poster and just sobbed. It then hit me how hard this has been on so many children. He will be so missed.

What a difference between those two interviews. She seemed more at ease with Ray, it almost seemed like she was extra on edge with BW. I don't blame her though, nothing like being interviewed by a robot.

See if you can open that one folks... that is the full interview.. 51 mins of it.
Nutsy, I'm really glad you found this link. It's excellent quality. The only thing is that I'm having such a hard time watching it. I kept trying to watch it on youtube but I would get so depressed I had to shut it off. After the memorial and the Barbara Walters interview it's really hitting home now. I'll try to get through the whole thing this weekend. I really need to see it. Thanks for posting it. :thumbsup2

Thanks nutsy for the link. Crying all over again. Ray Martin did a much better inverview. I feel better watching it. He really conveyed to Terri how much people cared for Steve.

The only thing about Ray's interview with Terri that I wasn't overly keen on was his question of "Did you love him too much"? Now I realise why he probably asked it.. but at the time I did feel a little concrened at that question.

I just loved how at ease she was.. how open she was and how she elaborated.. it wasn't just a short answer.. it was a short story in answer to some of the questions.

You really could feel the love she shared with Steve and how she is determined to keep the family together.

I really love the tribute song sung by Dan McGahan

'To Change This World'

The lyrics appear below

To Change this World By Mark McDuff

To change this world You need the heart of a lion To change this world You need the faith of a child Don’t you know you need to touch a billion people to get your message heard And change this world

To be a hero You’ve gotta tangle with danger Holding onto nature And never letting go Don’t you know you need to stand and shout out loud to make your message heard To change the world

And all at once Voices from the wilderness Will be calling out your name Now we’re apart Those voices fill my heart

To change this world Crikey what an adventure To change this world And make a better place Don’t you know we need to touch a billion people and make your message heard to change this world You changed my world

I didn't like this question much either. To me it seemed like Terri was pretty taken aback by it. I'm glad he didn't bring up the "Baby Bob incident" or question why Steve loved crocs.

Terri did so much more talking in this interview than in the Walters interview. It seemed like the Walters interview assumed that you didn't know much about the Irwins at all, and it spent a lot of time showing pictures and having a narrator explain Steve and Terri's background, etc.

I'm glad I got to see both of the interviews, though.

I was reading another forum last night and they were of the same mind about that question.. but them someone put it into perspective.

think the question about her loving him too much, had been floating around for awhile. i dont agree with it, but some people had the view that by devoting her entire being to steve, ie moving here, working together, living in each others pocket, that it didnt give her her own seperate identity/life. so when the unthinkable happens, it would be 1000times harder to deal with it as you have never had a life without them

When you look at it like that.. the question is not so bad. But I do agree that Terri did seem taken aback by it.. but she defeneded herself very well and explained just how she felt.

I didn't much care for the question at the time.. but I can sort of see where Ray was coming from by asking it tho.

I liked it when she said she loved him just right.

I was hoping Ray would have asked how Steve's dad is doing. Have you heard anything from the dad?

I did too.....thank you so much for the link Nutsy. This interview is so much more heartfelt and personable than the Barbara Walters one......Terri even seems more relaxed and able to open up.

I feel so sad for Terri. She must feel so adrift right now. :(

Thanks for the link.

No lucas.. I think Bob snr has done enough.. he fronted the media from the moment they lost Steve up to the Memorial.. now it's his turn to do some grieving.. but he did say after the Memorial that he thought his world would all fall apart now.. he'd been keeping up a front for the media and being there for Terri and the children. but he couldn't keep it up..

I also had hoped Ray may have asked after him.. but I guess the interview was directed more at Terri and the children and how they were coping.

Terri had been grieiving in private all the time (nothing wrong with that btw) and Bob was realying messages from her to the public.

I do feel for the poor guy tho.. he's lost his wife and his only son (who happened to be born on his Mum's birthday).. He really must be feeling awful.

I'd love to be able to give him and Terri and Wes and John Stainton a big hug.. they must be going through hell.

Didn't think I still had this......
