We are going to Disney in September. My DB and DSIL have a baby boy who will be 10 months old by the time we go. He will still be on formula at that time. They are going to buy the premixed formula (a little bit more expensive but worth the convenience). Has anyone had any experience with how they sterilize the baby bottles while at the Disney Resort? We will be staying at Pop Century. They have bottle liners but they still need to sterilize the nipples. Any thoughts on this? Any help would be appreciated.

The water from the tap in the hotel room sink gets plenty hot enough to wash the nipples with soapy water and rinse. At ten months they really shouldn't need to be any more "germ free" than that. And if the child needs that sterile of an environment, exposing him to all the people (germs) at WDw is probably not a good idea.

Thanks for the tip. I think using the hot tap water will be enough. Just
needed some input on how others have handled it.

After about 3 months I stopped sterilizing bottles and nipples. Just did a through wash in soap and hot water. Kids are exposed to germs anyways and as long as the bottles and nipples are clean they are usually fine. I suggest buyng bottled water though as a new water might give the baby problems.

We took ds when he was 10 mths and still on formula. We just used the powdered formula and measured out the desired amounts in the bottle liners and later added bottled water and shook it up, very easy and much cheaper than pre-mixed! We too just used hot soapy water for washing the nipples and plastic rings. Hth, Jen :)

she was 9 months old..we bought a can of formula, and bottled water..

Washed in hot soapy water:)

She had so much fun...laughed and squealed ALL the way through BITBBH, Laughed and clapped her little hans through Ariel, and LOVED Mickey's Philharmagic:)

We had no idea that her reactions were going to be so magical!! :goodvibes

Have fun!!

I agree that they really shouldn't need to sterilize. However, when we took our kids as babies, we always used bottled water instead of tap water. And the powdered stuff worked great.

Just my opinion but I think the bottles don't need to be sterilized anymore. I have 3 boys and stopped doing it when they were 4 months without any problems.

Washing with hot soapy water should be fine :sunny:

I say ditto on the hot water. You could always use your hot pot and boil some water to rinse them if that would make you feel better. We always took the big 1.5 liter bottle of water with us to make up the formula. I didn't want to risk upset bowels from unusual water. Be sure to use some of the bottled water here before you go so that they can get used to the water. have a super time. I took both my kids when they were that age and it is so entertaining for the parents.
