Epcot
Epcot’s only purpose was Mission Space. None of us had ridden it yet. But we’d been to Epcot with Marching band and school, several times. So we walked through the gates of Epcot, and the CM’s at the gate went nuts over out shirts and I got THE PHONE CALL. From goofy, wishing me a happy birthday. She also gave me a pin with mickey and the gang that says, Congratulations! Which I’ve never received before! Very cool…
So I went to Guest relations and got my very very cool birthday pin. Along the way a mother stopped us and said she loved our shirts and she wished me a happy birthday, and said it was her daughters birthday too. I just happened to have an extra pin from MGM that a security guard gave me. So I gave it to her, and she was so excited as was the mother. Her mom took our picture with us both wearing our “today is my birthday” pin. I felt good. So we went over to Mission Space and got in line.
While we were in line we were chatting the CM’s who worked on it. They were really cool. We got to talking with this one, David. And he had to leave. So I jokingly said “take us with you!” and laughed and said he couldn’t, but to enjoy the ride. So we were waiting about 5 more min, when one of the CM doors near us opens and out pops David, who says “Hey guys, I just got clearance to bring you up to Mission Control, since its Stephenie’s birthday!” We were like OMG!!! And we went through the door, through lots of hallways, and into the room that you can see while your in line. Its got computers and people in it. So the people in there are like Hi! Happy Birthday Stephenie. And they show us how the ride works and what these buttons do. And then they tell us we can go around on the other side and play with the buttons, because they don’t do anything they are for show. So we are being watched by all these people in line, with our birthday shirts turned to them. And having a blast pretending were manning the station. So then they ask me if I would like to make an announcement. And they give me a script, and I read thorugh it, and then make the annoncement, something like Attention please don’t sit on the handrails be safe….blah blah. It was awesome. They asked me if I worked at a theme park, because I sounded like a natural. J So then after we played around a bit more. They escorted us right onto the ride and we had a BLAST. Then the whole crew was waiting out in the lobby applauding us when we got off the ride. It was truly Special.
So afterwards we went and took some pictures in front of the ball. With an awesome photo guy, who take some great pics.
And went to wait for the monorail to the Magic Kingdom! When we got up there, the technician asked if I’d like to ride in the cockpit, as it’s my birthday. I said of COURSE!
Onto the Magic Kingdom!
