DF AKA Sleepy - Hasnt been to WDW since 1976 He had little to no interest in going initially, but when the grandkids wanted to go, being the awesome pawpaw that he is, he was game. Really, by the time that we left, he was just as excited as the kids were. He has a tendency to make statements that no one understands, and he never met a stranger. He will talk to anyone And does so - often. Dubbed Sleepy because of his tendency to be oblivious to anything outside of himself. Which can be good or bad, depending on the situation.
DM AKA Grumpy - LY/MI mom Last trip to the world in 2002. Fabulous grandmother of three, two of whom will be on this trip. Passions in life are reading, trying to make heads or tails of Sleepys actions, and her grandchildren. People are drawn to Grumpy. She has no idea why, but it is because she has southern charm and hospitality down to a tee. But, if you had to live with Sleepy day in and day out, wouldnt you be grumpy too?
Me AKA Happy - Not necessarily because I am happy all the time, but because I ran across this description - Happy: Most rotund of the dwarves - that would be me. Rotund, and ecstatic to be going on this trip. Daughter to Sleepy and Grumpy (I know, but just go with it) and mother to Bashful and Dopey. Last trip in 2002, with Grumpy, Bashful, and Dopey.
DD15 AKA Bashful - What can I say, she is 15 Great kid who really never gives her mother a moments trouble. She lives like a hermit in her room, but mention WDW, and she is ready to go My baby is very shy, but very sweet. She is most looking forward to Epcot and the Japan pavilion. She is an anime freak
DD12 AKA Dopey - Our youngest and silliest. Dopey is our little social butterfly. She is currently in the in between phase where you can find Hannah Montanna and System of a Down both on her MP3 player. She has more energy that the other 4 of us combined, loves to do impersonations, and makes us roll with laughter. But when things go wrong with her, the whole world comes to a screeching halt Well, she thinks it does anyway. Drama queen
So, background on this trip....
I wont bore you with family woes leading up to this trip, but there were deaths, layoffs, diagnoses - you name it - in the year or so preceding the planning of this trip. A vacation was definitely in order.
Originally, Sleepy wanted to go on a cruise, but that was quickly scratched, and someone - ok me
- mentioned WDW. It went from a cruise for Sleepy and Grumpy to a WDW vacation for our cast Woo hoo 
Many options are discussed, many dates set, and rescheduled, ADRs galore made and rescheduled, you name it, it was done and redone. Final dates were 11/23/06 - 12/1/06. The planets aligned, the gods smiled on us, and pixie dust sprinkled our way.... Finally, finally, all is set and we are going to Disney World 
So the shopping madness ensues.
How can a 12 yr old have 32 (she counted) pairs of shoes, and not one decent pair of sneakers? Because sneakers arent cute mom 
So 1 pair of sneakers needed.
How come DD15 only wears sneakers, but has absolutely no sneakers with any kind of support? Tons of Converses and Vans, but no good walking shoes. 2 pairs of sneakers needed.
The list went on and on......I swear getting ready to go to WDW will nearly break you......Disney should try to tap into that somehow. Like the schools do with school supplies. You give them $30 or so and they give you what you need for the semester. I would gladly give Disney extra money to have everything needed at the resort so I didnt have to 1. shop for it, 2. remember that I already bought it so I dont end up with multiples, 3. keep up with it until time to leave, 4. keep DDs from stealing it, and 5. have to pack it and lug it to Florida. Much easier to place an order of things you will need, dont you think?
But since no such thing exists, I browse the Dollar store endlessly, hit the dollar section at Target and WalMart, end up with 20 packs of ponchos, 15 miniature shampoos, 18 miniature tubes of toothpaste, a soap holder(?), 20 bottles of body wash, and a whole bunch of crap that I will never use. Like travel sized eye drops. Because eye drops come in a huge bottle to begin with.......and I have used eye drops oh, once in the last 10 years.....but I might need it right?
Crazy though it is, and I do know that it is crazy....that little bottle of eye drops is connected to WDW, so it is somehow ok that I bought it. And I will make sure that someone uses it. Maybe I will make myself appear to cry and see how badly I can freak Grumpy out...drink around the world and still be photo ready the next day....use the bottle to prop up a wobbly table...throw sand in someones eyes...or maybe I will use it as a squirt gun and police the parks against smoking outside of smoking areas. (Not really, I cant run that fast - rotund people are at a distinct disadvantage when it comes to running, and plus I just look plain silly attempting it - kind of like a dog running on linoleum..lots of effort, but not actually going anywhere)
So now we are all shopped, have everything we need and another 50 lbs. worth of stuff we dont need, and we are ready to go Crap......we still have 5 more weeks....

Maybe we will bump into each other! I think the chances are very very good that I will be heading to the POFQ for beneits....and I know I botched that spelling horribly....
