Stephanie's mom Joni just stopped in to our office. Stephanie isn't doing well. Hospice care should be coming next week to help take care of her. 
Joni said she's in good spirits though, so that's good.
The kids are having a hard time as is to be expected.
We did talk about their Disney trip, as we haven't really talked to them since they returned. She said they had the most amazing time ever, she said it truelly was a miracle.
Stephanie couldn't participate in everything on the trip, but she saw quite a bit and the kids saw tons!
A few highlights -
The kids thought the Hoop De Doo Review was hilarious!
They couldn't get over how wonderful their rooms were, both at OKW and at AKL. Joni had no idea how they were bumped up to Concierge at AKL (nor did they know what it was at first
) but they thought it was great. Jacob (the 2 year old) wanted to take an elephant home that he saw off of their balcony, so they bought him a wooden one to bring home
They had a great time at the Crystal Palace for their meal with Pooh and Friends. Jacob was slightly terrified of the characters since Pooh usually isn't that big at home! They had quite a production made over them at breakfast too. While they were eating a man burst through the doors and asked where the Whiting / Stradinger family was. He was joined by a 5 piece band that serenaded the family. The man turned out to be the Mayor of Disney World and announced that the family were honorary cast members of Walt Disney world. He then presented them with hats and pins! Joni said Steph was sooooo embarrassed
After watching the stage show at MK a man asked the family to come around the back. He asked Stephanie who her favorite character was and if there was one person she would want to meet, who would it be. Of course she said Mickey Mouse! He said he would try, but he wasn't sure that he could get Mickey. A whole cast of characters slowly got off the elevator. First Goofy, then the Fairy Godmother, then the Ugly Stepsisters, and then the big Guy himself stepped off of the elevator. He hugged Stephanie and her whole family and spent some time with them. Joni said Stephanie was just in tears and was grinning from ear to ear.
They couldn't believe how much food was in their room at OKW - Joni said they had more than enough food. She also said that someone (I assume Laurabearz or her helper?) called midweek to see if they ran out of anything!!
Steph ordered room service one day at AKL because she couldn't get up to go out to conceirge. She ordered some shrimp and a salad and a dessert. Her bill came to $55 and they had to take a picture of the $55 lunch! LOL!!!
Joni was all excited that she got to sit in the same chair in concierge that Demi Moore sat in just a week earlier
She said Jane at Gifts of a Lifetime was amazing and so good to them. Jane's daughter even babysat the kids so that the adults could all go out one night Joni thought that was so sweet!!
Basically she said from the moment they stepped out the door of their house to the moment they got home, it was more than they ever thought possible!
They are still working on getting us some pictures. Joni has them on her digital camera but has to download them.
She told me to tell you all "Hi" and "Thank You". They had an amazing time and they all still talk about the trip constantly. I know that they kids will have many memories of this special time with their mom and it wouldn't have been possible without the help of everyone here.
