I don’t usually bother writing up a pre-trip report and I’m lucky to get half of a real trip report written, but I’m really getting excited about our trip even though its still 3 months away – and what could be a better way to share that excitement.

Cast of characters:
Me – 29 and confirmed disneyholic, super huge Pooh fan as well
DH – 27, supports my addiction and will sometimes admit to a growing one of his own

Backstory:
This trip has been in the works for close to a year. Our first stay at the Contemporary for our Valentine’s/DH Birthday trip in ’06 made us realize the trouble we had gotten ourselves into. As DH predicted, we (I) fell in love with CR and really only want to stay there. This was reaffirmed after a quick trip to POP in March ’07 – better than no trip at all but POP is no CR. It’s our 2nd anniversary and it will sort of be the honeymoon that never was. Oh don’t get me wrong, we went to Disney world for our honeymoon and stayed at WL on the premium package but it was less than perfectly magical –from our room to the lack of the platinum package, the “extras” just weren’t there. We still had a great time but you know how you try really hard to make things perfect and it doesn’t quite work out – well this is our do-over. I would have loved to have the do-over for our 1st anniversary but I compromised with DH and opted for an all inclusive trip to Jamaica. It was fun, but no Disney and even he agreed on that one. So, planning began for this splurge of a trip. We almost called it off because it is a bit more than we would normally spend but DH assured me that we would make it work. He knew I was looking forward to it so much and I’d be sad if we couldn’t go – he’s such a great guy. Plus we just got some great airfare so at least we’re saving on that front.

The Details:
Oct 10 –Oct 17
Contemporary Resort – Tower Magic Kingdom View (fingers crossed for a king bed)
Platinum Magic Your Way Package – the works

I love being able to use the concierge planning office with this package – I love planning but I hate making all the different reservation calls. Almost everything is taken care of already, just waiting on watersports and our Illuminations Cruise.

The Plan:
10/10 – The MK, where else to start the trip. Lunch at Crystal Palace for a Pooh fix, an afternoon of rides, followed by dinner at Grand Floridian Café then a quiet evening of balcony fireworks viewing.

10/11 – Hopefully an early morning jet ski tour and Chef Mickey breakfast, then the rest of the day at MGM eating at 50’s Prime Time Café for lunch and The Brown Derby for dinner. And to top it all off, MNSSHP

10/12 – Another jet ski tour and/or parasailing after a room service breakfast followed by an Epcot day. We’ll be dining at Biergarten for lunch and Rose & Crown before our Illuminations cruise. I’m pretty sure this is an evening EMH too.

10/13 – Animal Kingdom day with Breakfastosaurus and Rainforest Café on the menu. Then off to Yachtsman Steakhouse for dinner and our reserved Fantasmic Seating.

10/14 – Early breakfast at Crystal Palace and a morning MK visit followed by some pool time, watersports, and a massage before Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner and another MNSSHP.

10/15 – Bright and early Chef Mickey breakfast and then the Dolphins In Depth tour. The rest of the day is open – more Epcot, a waterpark, or whatever. I’m thinking of catching Spectromagic this night.

10/16 – Another unscheduled day except for O’Hana breakfast. Again we’ll use this time to wind down and catch anything we missed before. Maybe another trip into MGM.

10/17 – The sad day. This one is always another MK day with Crystal Palace for breakfast.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my planning. Is it October yet?

The platinum package is pretty much an all inclusive thing. It includes 3 meals a day (TS or CS, signature, room service and V&A) plus a drink and food item snack, unlimited recreation, tours, a spa treatment, a fireworks cruise and fantasmic viewing. If we had kids we would also get free use of the kids clubs and inroom babysitting. You also get to use concierge pre-trip planning service. We've never done this one before - usually with stick with premium which is pretty much meals and recreation. But we really want the cruise and the extra tours this includes.

Sounds like a great trip is planned.

I am going end of November for the 4th year in a row celebrating our anniversary! This one will be our 11th. It is a great place to celebrate!

4 anniversaries in a row at disney - I like the way that sounds. Ooo and you have trip in just a few weeks too. Have a great time.

Yes to BWV...we cannot wait. I am taking my SIL, a Disney World Virgin at the age of 45. We live 3 hours and 15 minutes South. Makes it easier for trips.
